talk to me about cottonseed oil.

i asked at a fast food restaurant what the fries were cooked in, and the response was corn-soybean-cottonseed oil. i had always thought cottonseed stuff was poisonous, so i looked it up, and.. whoa. we're talking seriously screwed up in many ways. just thought i'd pick your brains and ask if anyone had experience/knowledge of cottonseed oil.

Cottonseed's pretty commonly fed to dairy and beef cows, so you're probably getting it anyways. Not quite as directly as eating food fried in the oil though, that's just gross.

its not regulated like other oils because "cotton" is not a food.
