What Prenatal are you taking?

I just fell in love with New Chapter Perfect Prenatals. Before I was taking Bronson's prenatal and a separate folic acid. It made me gag.

And I stumbled across Vitamin Code RAW prenatal. http://www.beyondprobiotics.net/vcintroduction.htm Do you think this is a good prenatal, or that the claims stack up? I really like the idea behind it.

Curious what others are doing!

I was already taking Women's One-A-Day, doctor told me to just add folic acid tablet to it and it would be equal to prenatal vit's. That's what I have been taking.

I have some whole food New Chapter prenatals and they make me sick. They smell like dog food. *gag*

Waiting until the second trimester for the prenatals. Just taking a b-complex, just can't stomach them, didn't even try this time around. The last two pregancies I choked them down with a snack at bedtime, but I paid for it in weight gain. I feel so much better this time.

I had been taking New Chapter for a couple years, but just finished my first bottle of the Vitamin Code ones. They were on sale at my local health food store plus I had a coupon. I liked their ingredients a lot and I was hoping the ginger would help with my MS but I felt more nauseous every single time after I took them. Also, I've always been a little turned off by all the Garden of Life crazy marketing stuff, although their products are supposed to be really good.

Anyway, I'm back to my New Chapter for now. Maybe once my stomach feels completely settled again I'll try the Vitamin Code prenatals again.

Oh,good I'm glad to see someone else is taking a store brand. The nurse at the clinic gave me a bottle if the store brand prenatals yesterday. I did read and compare the label to a top selling brand here and they seem very close. Later I may check around the health food store and if it's affordable get something different.

Oh my gosh, they do smell a bit like dog food! I remember noticing that when I first started taking them. Luckily that somehow hasn't bothered me too much, though.

I'm taking Citra Natal Assure They're RX and I got them from my nurse practitioner. I love that there's a stool softener included with the iron.

I take the New Chapter prenatals and love them too! They never make me sick at all which is a huge bonus for me.

Before becoming pregnant I took the Vitamin Code Raw for Women (non prenatal) and I got the worst gag inducing burps every time I took them. I couldn't imagine taking something like that while pregnant. But that is just my experience.

I had to sniff them hard to decide b/c I still have that weird sinus infection. But they do! Good thing I started them after my nausea!

I was taking Rainbow Light prenatals but there were not sitting well with my stomach. I switched last week to GNC prenatals.

Just Target brand, I picked them up with the intention of getting better ones, but I'm not taking them daily at this point, because they make me constipated. I'm skipping days or subbing with a chewable one-a-day type thing. I do take extra folic acid, b-6 and b-12 daily because of my MTHFR diagnosis. That I'm good about!

I'm taking the Rainbow Light prenatals. They are huge though and no coating so hard to swallow. Oh, and thanks for reminding me I forgot to take it this morning!

I've got the rainbow light prenatals and also the mini tabs--but they both turn my stomach--hopefully it will get better soon because I feel really guilty not taking them!!

I'm taking the Perfect Prenatal, and have a question... I'm a veg (no fish) and have been using flaxseed to try to increase omega 3's but just read it's not the same as taking DHA. None of these prenatals have DHA.

Have any of you been doing DHA supplementation of any kind?

I take TwinLab prenatals. They do smell really weird. I also take 100mg of Omega-3.

I don't eat much fish so I take fish oil (I have both capsules and liquid which DD gets, too) from Nordic Naturals. It has DHA and EPA in it. I also take a bit of cod liver oil but I don't think that has much DHA or EPA in it.

I was taking the Rainbow Light prenatals, because I took them successfully my entire third pregnancy. Ugh. After five weeks of absolute miserableness, I finally realized it was the vitamins making me sick for a good 36 hours after each one. I had to accidentally miss them two days in a row to realize. I am just taking a children's gummi vitamin now, and even that is making me feel ill. I'm hoping that if I take it at bedtime tonight, I'll wake up feeling okay. This pregnancy has been rough with food and vitamins so far.

I'm taking a pre-natal multi-vitamin & mineral that the dr. who delivered my DD has formulated for his patients. It's all-natural, derived from 'food sources' and in addition to your typical ingredients, has RRL, nettle, cloves, rose hips, and other strange things in it. It also costs a pretty penny, but I have taken his other supplements in the past, and they agree with my system a lot better than the other prenatals I took during DD's pregnancy. Oh, and he also recommends taking fish oil...which I do reluctantly because it leaves such a horrible after taste. I take it when I remember
