Where to start?

If I suspect that my toddler has an SPD where do start in regards to seeking help? Her ped, mental health professional, what?

After a good talk with some mama friends who have experience in this it gave me a lot of food for thought and I think it is time I looked in to this for dd2. I think she may be a sensory seeker and I just can't keep up anymore.

You can start w/your ped, but I wouldn't expect that he/she will know exactly what to do. But he/she can refer. An occupational therapist (OT) is who usually specializes in SPD and can offer you the most help.

This page has a list of OTs who are certified in SI...it's not a complete list of those who are familiar with SPD, but it's a place to start. Like the PP said, I would get a referral from your ped. for an OT eval. But, make sure the OT has experience with SPD. Not all do.
