xp: craft advice please!

i received a crib bedding set, curtains etc from a well-meaning relative-trouble is we're not using a crib. but i think the fabric is pretty cute and baby's room is pretty spartan. any ideas on how i could repurpose the crib bumper and crib skirt? make pillows? pad for rocking chair? i was thinking somehow of turning crib skirt into a window valance and maybe cutting up coordinating crib sheet to make pockets on bumper to hold things? would love to hear thoughts!

However, your ideas sound great. You could also get some coordinating flannel and turn the crib sheet into a small throw blanket.

That bedding is way cute. I would consider saving the sheet just incase you decided to set up a toddler bed later- I ended up setting up toddler beds with my kids later, they didn't sleep in them much, but it was a good place for them to cuddle up with a book....

Anyway, I think the idea of turning the skirt into a valance is great. Wonder if you could turn the bumper into a hanging diaper holder bag? Pillows would be nice too.

i had a set of bumpers that i loved the pattern. i ripped out all the seams and then was left with fabric to do what i wanted with.

diaper stacker
fabric toys (blocks, taggie blanket, hanging toys)
hanging fabric bag for laundry
log pillow for in your bed
small blanket for carseat
burpcloths/facecloths/wipes
