help choosing an ameda pump

I am currently nursing my two week old son. I am looking to buy an Ameda pump but i am not sure which one to pick. The choices include an ultra model, a carry all, and a backpack option. Does anyone have any experience with these pumps. I don't want to buy the least expensive model just to then wind up buying all the accesories that I would have gotten with the ultra model. I guess its important to note that I will be going back to work in six months but I will not be pumping at work. There simply is no place to pump there.

When I bought my Ameda Purely Yours pump, the only one at the boutique I purchased at was this one...called the carry all I guess.

I was only pumping at home & did not need the bag or the cooler so it turned out to be overkill for me but at the time I had credit at the shop that I had to use & they talked me into buying my pump there.

I had to replace the parts kit once because something got a crack in it. It cost me about $20 at a local place to buy a replacement kit.

I would get the cheapest one-or if it becomes an option-just the pump itself. I just don't find all the accessories to be that impt unless traveling often with the pump.

If you're looking at the Ameda, you might want to check out the Lasinoh pump as well. It's made by Ameda and from what I understand it's the same pump as the Purely Yours, but it frequently costs less.

i bought the whole big pack / back pack thing but only b/c the pharmacy i bought it at gave me a deal and sold it to me for the same price as just the pump. btw - the ladies working the home aides counter were awesome and very helpful. try to go to a home medical supply store if you can. they can be very informative.

the things i like - it came with extra bottles and the oh gosh, i'm blanking on the name, the white valves that help regulate the pumping. so, if one gets broken or whatever, i have an extra ready to go.

i expect to use the ice packs, etc once i get back to work.

I bought the Ameda Purely Yours Ultra because of all of the power options and the use for work. I also liked the bag and how it all fit in it. I had planned on working and wanted to have a good pump / set up so I thought the APYU would be the best.

I'd like to thank everyone for their help. I picked up the Ameda Ultra this afternoon. Hopefully I will be ready to start pumping tomorrow.
