clamping down on nipple?

This started after my milk came in, and now at 2 weeks old it isn't any better. She opens wide, I get her on the breast, then she somehow clamps down and rubs the nipple between her gums HARD for a few seconds, then goes on with nursing normally. It hurts though, and I don't know what to do. IT does seem worse when I am more engorged...

Is your nipple really soft when she first latches on? If that is the case try gently rolling your nipple between your fingers till it becomes a little harder. Maybe it is so soft she is having a hard time getting a good latch on it. I would also ask a LLL leader or a good lactation consultant. Good luck, hopefully she will get it all figured out soon. Congrats on your new baby!
