Bright boy's clothing?

Why, oh, why is EVERYTHING for boys navy blue, black, grey, or brown lately? I am trying like mad to find a few shirts for DS that are bright and not sports themed and it is absolutely impossible. He is about to go into a size 4T. Any suggestions?

Oh, and cheap is good. (says the extremely low income single mama who should only be buying at thrift stores...)

I was just in Old Navy yesterday and couldn't find anything, and we don't have a Target in VT, unfortunately.

Target website?

And have you checked a thrift store lately? Maybe you'd have some luck there after all.

Hanna Andersson (lots of it on Ebay!)

We buy most of DS' clothes at consignment stores/sales and I will often walk out with only 1-2 things at a time trying to avoid black/navy/hunter green. He has more khaki than I'd like, but it's not dark at least!

Good luck!

I make a lot of ds's tee's (I'm picky and hate most graphic tees)....I just buy tons of white tee's or white polo's and dye them.

It is super easy if you use the Dylon dyes-they sell them at JoAnn's, Wal-Mart, used to sell them at Michael's-not sure about them anymore...
Anyway, they come in bright pretty colors-I usually do a tie dye design using 2-3 colors. Plain white tee's are cheap and the dyes are only about $2 and enough to do a couple small shirts.

The Land's End website has lots of good basic stuff without characters or sports/princess junk. If you check the overstock section you can find some great deals.

Etsy has great kids clothes - got DS some very colorful/uniques shirts there at that age. Even if you don't buy anything from Etsy you can get some fun ideas there!

You could get plain tees in bright colors and add (sew/iron/screenprint) a pic of something he likes onto it.

I'm planning on freezer paper stenciling a bunch of t-shirts for DS for the summer. Just can't find enough interesting things out there.

One of my fave brands is Mis-tee-v-us. Cute stuff. Try eBay.

When you go shopping always check the girl stuff. My son loves purples and pretty greens and turquoise and pink and none of those are in (esp the less expensive) the boys section of course! What is with that?!

Ditto American Apparel, those are great shirts and can be found super cheap on ebay. I've even wondered if anyone ever does co-ops for wholesale prices.

We've also done a lot of dying of white shirts, it's really fun at this age!

I do almost all my shopping at our local kids' resale shop, where they have the girls' and boys' shirts all pretty much together on one rack, so I probably choose some things that may be girls' stuff but works for my 2 ds's. We've also gotten fun pajamas that way too!

This is a Canadian chain but have you checked out Please Mum? They have flat rate shipping to the US ($6.95) and I really like their boy stuff. They also have good clearance deals, which is what I solely shop from.
