Please, I need advice

I am looking to move out of state... from Colorado to Arizona with my fiance (will be husband by the time of the move, not sure if that helps the court decide?). DD's dad is not the most stable person and he's in DV classes due to our rough breakup. DD has also shown signs of abuse after staying with his side of the family for long periods of time. We are now seeing a child psychologist, and my ex insisted on coming and has completely taken over the sessions and never leaves time for me to speak my concerns. This is all very frustrating and overwhelming for me.

I really want to start a new life in Arizona and my daughter is better off with myself and fiance. I am just unsure of the laws... child relocation is tricky when one parent is not in favor, right? Please help!

Do you really want your abusive ex to have your child for most school holidays and most, if not all, of the summer? Because that is the typical long distance parenting plan if the courts allow the child to move with you.

Personally, I would stay so that the visits (the only way you will be able to get them supervised/stopped is if you can prove abuse on his part) are not for that long of a duration. Less of a chance of abuse happening.

How do I prove abuse? She is 2.5 yrs old... She comes home from being with her grandparents (who have a history of abusing their children) and she looks at the ground shamefully, says things like "it's all my fault, it's all my fault...I'm a bad girl" and cries and is fearful, etc.
But the child psychologist we are seeing says she's just being a toddler. And my instincts tell me something's up.

You can petition for the move away but what kind of visitation is currently in place? Supervised since he is in DV classes? You will more then likely be responsible for transporting your daughter for visits to maintain their relationship.

I don't have any advice but I just wanted to give you a hug. The part about your daughter's behavior after she comes home just broke my heart. I am so sorry you are going through this Mama.

Did CPS look into your daughter being possibly sexually abused?

I hope it all works out well for both of you.
