Grace isn't pregnant! But Debra is!

This has really bothered me the past couple of weeks, and I'm wondering if I'm the only one:

On Will and Grace, it's OBVIOUS that Debra Messing is pregnant, they're not doing anything to try to cover it up, but her character isn't pregnant on the show! Usually when an actress is pregnant, they have her carry big shopping bags or laundry baskets or something to hide her belly (admittedly sort of lame, but still...), but they're not doing anything like that with Grace. They just put her in baggy clothes. Are we not supposed to notice her prominent tummy?! How stupid do they think we are?! Or do they just think we'll be okay with pretending it's not there?

Is it just me? Do I need to get a life? :LOL

well, they're trying, but she is HUGE, especially when you think of how skeletal she was before. There's not a prop on earth that could hide her torso now.
I agree though, the baggy costumes are ludicrous. She should be seated or behind a counter at all times.

I saw one episode where she was carrying a huge lime green purse or briefcase in front of her belly. Then Karen said "I'm so proud of you, your boobs have grown since you put on that weight". Kind of funny.

I'm pretty sure on the episode before last Karen said something about Grace gaining weight. It's obvious that isn't a woman that has just gained weight though. I meant to post and ask about this and also........

Are she and Leo still together and he is just overseas or did they split?

Yeah, I guess now that you mention it, I remember the "gaining weight" comment... but I still think it's a lame explanation. She only gained weight in her breasts and tummy? Doubt it.

Trish, that's a good question about Leo. The last I remember, Grace had come back without him and said they were having problems. But I don't remember any mention of him since then. This show's got some 'splainin to do!

On Seinfeld, Elaine was pregnant and wore big baggy jackets or held pillows up to her belly or stood behind the kitchen counter.

I think they made a comment that Leo had abandonned her on the last episode where they were 'flipping apartments'

i think that was their way of poking fun at themselves though.
i don't know why, but i think it's kind of cool that they're not going out of their ways to hide it.

i think it's cool too, i like seeing her pregnant, & it is funny to listen for all the comments they make in reference to her weight gain. before she was pregnant she was built just like me. when i was pregnant with joe i only gained n my belly but it was HUGE! i think debra messing is beautiful.

I haven't seen it for awhile, but I noticed it this week too! I think she looks great! Her face is much better a little more filled out. I think she is beautiful too!

She looks great! I wish they'd found a way to write her pregnancy in so she didn't have to hide.

I think her and leo are still together. She was at his cabin a couple of episodes ago and she was all gooey and in love when she thought she was wearing his shirt.

I think she looks great with some extra meat on her bones.

The whole Leo story is messed up and I don't think the writers really know how to handle it. The guy, who I love but have totalklky drwn a blank on his name, signed on for 6 episodeds and then they married them and he said "sorry guys I have to go. I have a tour scheduled" And they said surely youd rather stay with us, and he said no, this is your problem not mine. So now thay are trying to keep things happy and upbeat (grace would throw herself of a bridge if she got a divorse. she is way not sane enough to make it through a divorce) and positive while keeping Leo off the screen.

Harry Connick Jr. (who plays Leo) was on The Ellen Show this morning and said he will be returning to the Will & Grace set sometime this month for filming. He said he has no idea what the writers have in store for him, however. I don't know the details of why he hasn't been on the show for a while, but I do know that he just released a new album, which may have something to do with his absence... and the fact that he has a partner and three kids, including a 1.5 year old.
