implanting at 10dpo with a 12 day lp?

would that be too late to be a sticky babe? this morning my temp was down and when i wiped, there was a tiny tiny amount of bright red blood on the cloth. it looked like a red thread or if someone had drawn a line with a red pen. i went searching around inside, but could not find any other spotting or blood. if i get spotting the day before af comes, it's usually brown and i can usually find more inside when i look, so this seems different to me.

here's my chart. any thoughts? i know we timed things really well this month.

i haven't peed on any sticks this cycle because having so many blank white tests last month was really depressing to me. if my temp is down again tomorrow, then i won't bother because i will just assume af is on her way.

spotting can be indicative of so many different things - it would be in retrospect of a BFP that you could say...oh yeah that was likely implantation. Good luck!

right. i understand that i can't necessarily *know* if that spotting was implantation for sure.

but my question is: IF it was implantation, is an implantation at 10 dpo in a 12 day luteal phase too late to stick??? like would the corpus luteum get the HCG-message in time to stave off AF???

Okay, I know next to nothing about this, but my guess is yes, your body should figure it out even with a "shorter" LP. I think as long as implantation has started before AF starts, you're fine. It's just a problem if the fertilized egg tries to implant but the lining is already being shed. I'm guessing, but that's my instinct.

Have you had any more spotting? I had the same thing happen- very, very light spotting at 9dpo, when I normally have a 12-day LP. However, the spotting has continued through today (11dpo), so now I'm thinking my LP was just shorter than usual. Maybe that's the case for you, too, or maybe it was implantation!

i haven't had any more spotting since then. but my temp did drop again this morning. so i'm betting af is on the way -- she will probably come tomorrow.

I kinda had a similar question a while ago - My lP is 12 days, but by 7 dpo it is very clear to me that AF is on the way. I get a LOT of cramping, especially in my left leg around that time - every month. I was wondering if implementaiton happens after the cramping for AF starts, if that means that AF is a foregone conclusion and is already getting ready to start, y/k?

I don't know where that thread is, but a bunch of people thought that it would not be a problem, because even before implementation the fertilized egg would probably release hormones that would tell AF not to start. That made sense to me, I guess.

I totally relate! I'm not going to pee on anything this month, either. I hate seeing that ugly single line...and I know my AF is coming, so what's the point?

good luck!!!
