IEP Transition from preschool to school aged services

Not sure if anyone knows this answer, but I am not able to find it myself after having looked.

We are in the process of moving from pre-school to school based services. We had an initial meeting to sign forms either in September of October of 2009.

We are coming up on DS2's 5th Birthday in about 4-5 weeks.

I have not heard a word since that meeting as to what is going on. When do we have to have this final transition meeting by?

Hmm...I didn't know that there was an "official transition" from preschool to school-age, I thought that it was just updating the annual IEP?

Or are you out of district for preschool? Or private school? I can't remember...I know you mentioned that you are paying an arm and a leg...

I would think that they probably don't have to meet with you until 30 days before the new school year starts where they will do a new assessment (just like when you transitioned from EIS to preschool)

There are 3 transition times:
1) Going from EI to ECIP/pre-school services
2) Going from ECIP to school age
3) Graduating school

We had the meeting back in Sept./Oct. to get the new MFE done. But have not heard anything.

We have to do the Kinder sign up this week, and I was hoping for some guidance as to what school to put him in (Neighborhood vs Montissori at Rivers Edge). Ultimately it really is not that important about the actual placement, because we plan to Ed Choice out to the same school DS1 goes. But I need to get with the Director and see what we are going to do to accomodate what he needs from his IEP.
