OPK immediately after O

My DD has just turned 1. I recently weaned and just had my first PP AF about 3 weeks ago... actually today is CD24.

I have longish cycles- PCOS that is pretty well controlled w/diet & herbs, but still not clockwork O on day 14, by any means. Also, who knows how my cycles will regulate after the baby.

So, anyway, on CD10 I started using OPKs, 2x a day. They were all negative until CD 16, when I stupidly went to work two very long days and didn't bring any strips w/me, so I have no results from days 16 through 21. I also did not have any fertile CF so wasn't too worried about it, and this was supposed to be a "practice" cycle anyway (trying to get as close to O as possible to slant for a boy.)

Friday, day 22, and yesterday, CD23, I had EWCM. We BD'd last night w/no barrier for the first time. But today, for the heck of it, I peed on an OPK and got a VERY negative result- like, a control line and NO result line at all, whereas the OPKs earlier in the cycle had a light pink result line.

Did I just miss O, and the completely negative test today was because there is so little LH left in system? Has anyone noticed this to be the case, or am I crazy?

With just having your fertility return I wouldn't think you to have a reliable pattern like CM etc yet. I also don't hold much for OPK's as you can indeed miss the surge or get a surge and still not O. I recommend temping next cycle if this one doesn't offer you a BFP! Good luck!

I hate temping... I will do that if we have maybe 3 unsuccessful cycles.

Makes sense that I can't count on EWCM as very meaningful after only 1 PP AF, though.
