Hi, Im a single, full time working mother and my 4yr old dd, has whooping cough, she is happy, energetic and sleeps great, but has a dry barking cough, which she deals with fine. She will go hours with out coughing but then have a coughing spell. She is unvax'd and I am very weary of antibiotics, but I live around no family and she goes to daycare. Don't have many options...Got any suggestions, help regarding info on antibiotics, anything fast acting, any info will help! thanks,
Any natural medicines/alternatives to antibiotics out there??
(oops posted DS, instead of DD, new to this...)

From what I understand antibiotics wont do anything at this point. The cough will have to run its course. I have heard of a lot of moms doing Sodium Ascorbate to bowel tolerance and thats probably what I would do if DD got WC. Are you sure its WC? It could be croup or viral in nature. I had a stubborn cough that lasted well over 2 weeks and it was viral.

Just support her immune system with whole foods, probiotics, vitamin C and D and she will get through it.

I would do SA to bowel tolerance. If you know for a fact she has WC and you choose not to do the abx (which will do nothing to get her better, but will make her not contagious anymore) Then you may need to think about keeping her home from daycare.

I was just thinking if the daycare knows about her WC they may not let her attend without them.

I would suggest that you tell them about your dd actually because it is contagious and they have a right to know especially if they care for infants.
