Is this really bad?

I got a BFP this week on a FRER and would be expecting my period today. I just got up form my nap and I am spotting pink blood. i am really upset and worried that it is a missed miscarriage. The tests i took were at 12dpo and it was a light line but visible and the next afternoon yesterday at 13dpo it was slightly darker. I know some people have spotting in early pregnancy but I never have so this scares me and makes me feel like I am losing the baby. How many of you have had this?

i spotted during this pregnancy and the one with my daughter -- right around the time my period was due.

not myself (my spotting was 2dpo) but TONS of mamas from my DDC have had spotting around AF and are still going strong!

it can be totally normal but I understand the worry... the best you can do is just relax for the rest of today and call your midwife/doctor about it tomorrow. They may want to test you to make sure your levels are all moving as they should.

Mama! At this point there is no way to tell what's happening. Lots of people have spotting and even full on bleeding early in pregnancy, especially around when your period is due. However, it is also possible to have a chemical pregnancy, where the fertilized egg does not implant for some reason. I have had both, pink spotting in a pregnancy that continued uneventfully, and pink spotting that picked up and became a chemical pregnancy. I would encourage you to get an HCG draw, if possible. They do them 24 to 48 hours apart and see how the levels rise as an indication of continued pregnancy. In my chemical pregnancy, at 16 DPO my levels were already back to zero, I had had a positive test at 12DPO, and started bleeding at 14DPO. With this pregnancy, by 15DPO my levels were in the normal range, I would have to go back to look, but they drew them again at 18 DPO, and the rise was appropriate. We waited to 6.5 weeks than did an early u/s as well, because of my history of loss. Best luck mama!!

I've had the same experience as Ilovemyavery. With my ds3, I had some pink spotting when I would have had my period and it went away...totally uneventful pregnancy later, I had my baby boy!

With my m/c, I wouldn't say I spotted very much...it was at 5wks, and I started a tiny amount of spotting that went red very quickly.

With this pregnancy, no spotting (so far :fingerx). With my first pregnancy, no spotting.

So yeah...you can't really know what it is at this point, but many, many pregnancies have some pink or brown spotting and go on to be perfectly fine. It's so common--really!

I spotted with my older son right around the time that my period was due. I have heard that it is fairly common. I hope you are able to talk to your doctor tomorrow and find some peace. Hugs to you.

The spotting has turned brown. I wore a pad this evening but there isn't anything on the pad just when I wipe. I am going to call my DR in the morning and have them check my beta #s. I am on progesterone so I need ot know if this is a chemical or not to know whether to continue it. I am hoping it isn't. I was so excited to get a +test. Keep you FX for me

With my first son, I spotted the night before my period was due and it was red. I know it wasn't implantation bleeding b/c I got a BFP the next day on a digi with my 5th pee of the day! I also spotted a week or so later enough that I panicked and called my Dr at home.
He had me stay in bed and said no sex. I had an U/S the next morning and all looked good.
I never spotted after that and my DS is now 5!

I know it's terrifying to bleed during pregnancy but know that it CAN and does happen in healthy pregnancies! I think that severe cramping is a much worse sign than bleeding but I also think it's good that you're calling your Dr!

I'll be praying for you and hope your little baby stays put!!

So I took a test last night and the line was lighter than it was at 13dpo and this mornings test is almost not there. I started bleeding red and fairly heavy this morning so i am going ot stop my progesterone and hope next month is better for us
