Foot in Ribs! OUCH

IS there anything I can do about this?
I've got a very short torso and in the last couple days (am nearly 37 weeks)) Ive noticed my lung capacity drop hugely, and my baby's foot is under my right rib and it hurts terribly. Fundus is measuring 39cm now.
ITs not too bad if I sit up as tall as I can, but I can't sleep because of it.
What a PITA!!
I just want to cry!
I hope this baby decides to come out sooner than later.

My first did this and it really hurts! I was able to get some fingers in between the foot and my ribs and kind of dig the foot out.

I did go earlier than later. Hope you do too!

I don't want to be an alarmist, because most likely it IS just the baby's foot in your rib...

But, please call your doctor or midwife and report this pain. Pain just below the right ribs is classic HELLP pain, and sounds similar to what I experienced. Some women mistake it for the pain of the baby kicking them.

A simple blood test can make sure your liver enzymes and platelets are OK.

i agree about getting checked for HELPP .. otherwise, my DD had her butt in my ribs at that point and it hurt all. the. time. i never could get her too move.. but i remember that pain! with my DS he never got anywhere near my ribs and he was a whole lb bigger at birth so .. just know it may not happen next time

Sometime around maybe 30 weeks, DD wedged her feet under my right rib and they stayed there for about 3 weeks. Sitting at my desk was the worst - I had to sort of lean to the left to make room for her. She eventually moved on her own...no amount of poking & prodding on my part seemed to move her!

Good luck, hope your kiddo rearranges soon!

Do you have an exercise ball you can make a bridge over? Stretches the back and ribcage open. I think there are some opening yoga poses you can do lying on your back, I just can't remember the names. Good luck. I remember that foot.
