Ugh... allow me to whine?

So, last night I was exhausted and went to bed before 9 (normally I go to bed more like 11 or so). However, once again, I was up around 2 with menstrual-ish cramp-y feelings on my low back and down my legs. This lasted until maybe like 6 am?

I'm sooo tired

And I could really do without these achy-yucky feelings in the middle of the night.

On top of that, I wanted a shower this morning, but our furnace is still broken and the fire in the fireplace had gone out overnight and it was only 13 degrees out last night, so we woke up and it was about 62 in here... and it takes a while to get the woodstove cranking out enough heat to warm it up much... So I waited on the shower... but really, I could have just stood in there all day...

I'm SO sorry about your furnace - that's like out of control.

I'm going to add my own whine, but it's much less dramatic.

I am SO uncomfortable in my clothes!
I work in an office so I'm in nice tailored pants or suits. ALL of my pants are too tight. They keep slipping below my belly and they are uncomfortable. I think I have bare stomach down there. My shirt is stretching the buttons on my belly and my maternity jacket just feels so tight and uncomfortable in the arms. My shoes are too tight.

I can wear dresses, but I should really be in panty hose - and ugh! I wore dresses all last week and it's also COLD. I finally had to take my one set of low-heeled knee-high boots in to be resoled so I thought I'd try pants today.

I've gained about 50% of my bodyweight.

ugh... yeah, my clothes don't fit, either. The only thing that's keeping my belly from hanging out of every shirt I have is that i'm wearing those high-waisted maternity pants that angelina jolie supposedly came up with. I don't like them. They pull down on my belly and it's uncomfortable... but less uncomfortable than having my belly hanging out of my clothes... I've seriously been considering wearing some of my warmer-weather maternity dresses with a shirt under them and pants under them, just to keep my belly covered. I can't imagine your position with having to look professional! I swear they don't make clothes for the end of pregnancy. It's all geared toward the second trimester ... at least for me.

I actually put on a proper 'maternity' shirt today (because, really, it's cute!).. but... all my stinkn' maternity tops are too short. Seriously. Why aren't there maternity tops offered in TALL? (that's mostly what I wear... my good ol Old Navy TALL clothes.. they fit way better).

I'm just.. um.. really whiny today. I have NOTHING to complain about. I had an AMAZING shower last night (I even lit a couple candles because the lighting seemed so much better than the harsh overhead stuff), my kids stayed at MILs, and.. um.. we'll just say that with dh and I alone it was probably the best full-term pg experiece ever (haha... is anything ever TMI? I mean.. we all know how we GOT HERE in the first place! lol)...

But.. then of course this morning I still woke up pg. It's getting a bit "Groundhog Day"-like in my opinion.

I just got the nursing pillow I ordered. Now I'm TOTALLY set! So.. come out, baby!!

Heck, I could wear the "petite" stuff from ON, but I'd totally love some "tall" ones when pregnant. My belly just goes straight out and all my maternity clothes are too short on my belly. What the heck are you supposed to do if you're carrying multiples?? Funny, though - I bought a few tunic length non-maternity things that fit SO much better than my maternity stuff... so though my maternity clothes are too small, I'm wearing non-maternity stuff in my regular size. so weird.

Me too. I'm actually feeling quite a bit better than I was a couple days ago... just feeling whiney.

I'm also not fitting into maternity stuff anymore, despite the fact that I'm ridiculously short. I keep wondering how the heck tall women fit into anything, when my belly is catching a breeze all day long. The only shirt that fits properly is an Old Navy top in a size small - and it's not even maternity! Ridiculous.

I'm sorry you're having so many uncomfortable contractions. That really stinks. Maybe baby will be a few weeks early? I'm really hoping for a 37 weeker, since DH will be on spring break at that time. Of course, I don't have that kind of luck and will likely go into labor the day he goes back to school.

i'm average height and my shirts are small too.

the best ones are the ones that are not shirts at all. I've been wearing baby doll dresses (or empire waisted dresses, whatever you like to call them.)

they're more dressy than the "look" i usually go for (comfort)--but since they allow me to be completely un-self-conscious about where my belly/shirt is they fit the criteria for me!!

i got a few from the salvation army back when i was barely showing...they look good with jeans, with my nice black pants and with just some leggings.

Juvy: 62 degrees is downright toasty in our house!! But i feel your pain. if you're not used to it...and even we dread taking showers with how cold our house is. (we keep it at 58 during the day, 50 at night.) that's why we're dirty hippies. but at least we're dirty together!!

i hope everything gets worked out with your heater soon!!

my complaint for the day: my nursing little guy is just totally insistent and teething and @#$%^^&*&* if I can't get some rest from having him attached to my persistently sensitive nipples. GIVE IT A BREAK KID!! THere's not even any milk anyway. Just colostrum. I feel so bad but at the same time I want to just push him off of me and say NO NURSIES FOREVER! GOT IT KID!?!

ugh.

I'm right there with you, minus the furnace. But hey, if you get the chance, stay in the shower. All day. You earned it!

The guy is putting in the new furnace today!!

Also, we did better on heating up the house with the wood stove last night so we woke up and it was 65 in here! Woot! And no cramps last night (well, a bit this morning, though)

That's rough.

I'm miserable here. DH traveled for a job interview late last week (thurs to saturday), which was just before I turned 36 weeks (thankfully he said there's no way he'd travel after that point). My 2nd oldest is a DD, and she moved into her own bed (from cosleeping) in January. She sometimes still wakes and calls us 2x a night or so, but it is nice having her in her own bed (she's 3). The first night Dh was away she called me in 4x. The 2nd night it was *8*, yes 8, times. I was grouchy and yelled at her She was getting sick but I didn't realize it at the time (was obvious the next day). Then DH got home and offered to stay in her room all night, but she actually slept well...but of course, the first night I got a chance to sleep...I had mad insomnia and could not sleep at all from 1-5 am or so! So I got like 12 hours of sleep over 3 days, and now I'm sick (at 36 weeks) with a sore throat, achey hands, runny nose. I'm miserable. DH has it but so far is far kinda mild. Dd is still sick. DS is getting it. HOpefully it will be over with by the time baby arrives at least.

I was approaching miserable before this , but now i'm just a beast

On the bright side, we just switched from a freestanding birth center (had my DD there) to a homebirth midwife at 35 weeks. It made for some chaos (having to order supplies, get everything organized, records transferred, etc. but we're really happy with our decision. It definitely made life a little chaotic for a week or two though!

Hey, I'm sorry I missed this yesterday. I was too busy being irritable and crying. Ugh.

Jenna, I am so glad you are getting your furnace today. That must have been miserable with it being so cold!

lilcrunchie! That is so cool for you! The BC is great, but HB, for me, is just so much easier and more relaxing. And the MWs around here are all so excellent! I know you are going to have a great birth!

My kids and my dog are all sick. Last night, everyone slept through the night except for me and my CONSTANTLY crying dog. I would have been nicer if she had to poop or pee or something. No, she wanted some beef stew. She won't eat dog food and makes herself so starving, and then she cries in the night for something from the kitchen b/c she knows I will cave. (I fed her a raw diet for years and then she had an intestinal injury, so she can't have it anymore). The injury was from eating rocks, BTW. B/t times of being super irritated with her, I am worried about her health, so we are going to the vet today to get her checked out. She is ultra skinny. And she's coughing a lot.

Oh, and the clothes? RIght now, I am wearing a summer swim coverup over some dirty pants (my only comfortable ones). This outfit coordinates nicely with my dirty hair and face. I am a real prize-winner, I tell you. At least my children are dressed and teeth brushed.

Oh no

Hope she's doing better soon!

Ellien, I must have had you in mind this morning when I got up, for some reason I found myself thinking of pregnant women who were trapped in professional clothing, so you have my deepest sympathy, I hope your day's end quickly so that you can get home and into comfy clothes! Any outfit I wear gets at least a three day run, the good old standbys! I can't wear my fave maternity jeans anymore, the belly band is too tight I've worn them through 4 pregnancies! Wow. And none of my normal prego shirts cover my belly, so I wear a tank underneath just over my belly and tucked under my boobs, at least it keeps my belly warm when I go out! velveeta I'm so sorry to hear about our dog. I will ask my DH what he thinks, we've owned natural pets store for 14 years, maybe he has a suggestion that your vet won't think of. Juvysen Congrats on the new furnace, waking up tomorrow morning is going to be the best!

Velveeta-
Thanks for sharing my homebirth excitement We are really thrilled. As you know it is what I wanted from the beginning, so it just feels right. We switched into Deb's practice in Carrboro

Sorry about your dog. When I was pg with DS 6.5 years ago, we had a husky/shep mix w/ some kidney issues. She would whine to go out multiple times a night when I was pg. And then she wouldn't pee. She'd just sit in the yard and stare at the moon . Drove me crazy...you want to be so sympathetic, but a tired, pregnant mama can only take so much. We raw feed our current dog (border collie/shep mix). Sorry your pup hurt herself chewing rocks. Eeek. Our dog's mouth was bleeding last week because he was chewing a rock/stone he found inside, and he got blood streaks on my downstairs carpet We love our pets, but they can be so crazy-making!! I hope yours is feeling better soon...it is hard seeing them not feel 100%

just after they left from putting on the furnace, Dh was getting ready to head into work for a few hours (I don't feel comfortable having strange men in the house while Dh isn't here, so he works from home when people come)... and hears what sounds like a shower coming from the room where the furnace is. Turns out one of the valves that they hadn't even touched was so bad that the pressure of the new furnace (or something?) blew it and it sprayed water all over our laundry room!

I can't help but laugh... I mean, really, what's next?

I'm also not fitting in maternity clothes (especiall pants!) and this is so weird for me as I never had that problem with the first two. My midwife says my weight gain is great but I just keep thinking...yeah, but I'm way bigger than I was with the other two! My pants don't fit.... so it's just weird for me and I'm feeling whiny too...don't remember feeling this way with the others until the last week...I still have 4 to go (supposedly)......

That is such a bummer about the furnace...we are in the middle of trying to sell a house...months ago (before moving to the new house and before we knew about the pregnancy) we asked if the realtor thought we should paint any of the rooms, etc. and he said no, they are fine...now....9 months pregnant he asks if we can paint the two kids rooms and the windowsills? grrrrrr........ like I have time to find someone to paint and do carpets in a house I don't live in....

Thank you. I feel so petty next to not having a furnace. But yesterday went on and on! My daughter had Girl Scouts, so I picked her up, shoved crockpot food into her and needed to get back out of the house in 20 minutes. But I stood at the door for what felt like at LEAST 10 minutes, but was probably more like 5 while she dawdled (I was not walking back upstairs). GS ran REALLY late - like a one hour meeting was 90 minutes and then it took another 10 minutes to leave. So I wasn't home until 7:40 and still in the darn work clothes.

I'm a little better today in a dress, but I needed panty hose. I've been varying them between underbelly and binding in one spot and over belly and binding less, but all over my stomach.
