Bringing cloth to hospital?

How many are doing this? Just wondering if you guys had any pros/cons.......

I did it it was no big deal. The nurses never changed baby any way since they both stayed with me the entire time. They all commented on how cute the diapers were! I just packed a big waterproof zipper bag for the dirty dipes.

We took ours, but left them in the car when we first arrived, and never went out to get them! Just seemed easier to use sposies and not have more stuff to carry!

We took cloth when ds had a UTI at one month

It was no big deal. The only thing I would have done differently was to make sure they were all the same size/ style. But that is only because they were weighing the diapers at each voiding (due to his UTI) to make sure he was putting out enough fluids.

I did not b/c in past experiences, I got zero sleep in the hospital and couldnt be bothered. I also took the leftover pkg they gave me and used those at night the first week to make my life easier.

I'll jsut use what they provide duing my stay (assuming they do provide) but I'll bring a few as goig home diapers...

We didn't cd when dd was a newborn but for our next baby I will definitely bring some diapers to take him/her home in. I'm not sure yet if we will cd while we are in the hospital.

we didn't

first of all because the meconium stains the nappies, and also because the hospital typically gives you a pack of sposies. though we hardly ever (pretty much never) use sposies, it's good to have one pack in each size. you never know if you're going to come down with the flu and be unable to wash, or if you end up having to go somewhere for an extended period of time and be unable to wash, etc.
we liked the free backup package. plus newborns are teeeeny and you might not find yours fitting in the cloth diaps (we did NOT have that problem, personally). <3 good luck!
