Juvysen- congrats on the babe to be! I'm sure the vbac label doesn't help. Of the three local homebirth midwives, one doesn't do hbac at all, one was on vacation during my due month, and the remaining one was willing to fudge dates but was technically supposed to transfer at 41 weeks (to a hospital with a total vbac ban
). Sadly, due to a change in OB backup, all three midwives are losing their ability to (legally) attend homebirths as of June. Which stinks.
In regards to 41 vs 42, some vbac studies suiggest that vbac success is more likely if teh mom has spontaneous labor closer to 40 weeks than to 42 weeks. But there are several factors at play, the studies don't address women without uterine scars, and even though vbac success diminished as the 42 week mark approached it didn't vanish!
