Managing Yeast Issues as a Vegetarian?

Most of the material I've read recently about managing yeast related issues prescribe a high protein/animal product heavy diet.

Do you have yeast/candida issues, and how do you manage it as a vegetarian or vegan?

Thank you!!

I sure did have yeast issues + ileocecal valve syndrome.

I first went to a natropathic institue who claimed they would only treat me if I added meat into my diet. I searched out a natropathic doctor who honored my vegetarianism. I began with the elimination diet as well as several different supplements at different times to cleanse my gut. I do not remember what they were. I do remember taking neem to kill the buggers.

It is possible to do. I suggest seeking a healer who supports your diet. It is also quite intense physically and emotionally as your food choices are limited until the yeast dies. Physically you can feel pretty ill when the yeast is dying-you must resist all forms of sugar. The diet is pretty much restricted to veggies and rice.

Good luck.

Candida feed off of sugar. So you need to elimate all forms of sugar to elimate the yeast. One way to test if the candida is gone is to elimate all sugar for 2 weeks. Then take 1 bite of a banana. If the yeast is still present you will feel it go crazy in your gut as it reacts to the banana.
