Food Inc Inspiration

Have you seen Food Inc?

This is a truely devastating/inspirational documentary.

The movie provided me the catalyst to get back on the real food track.

For a short while I got off of the whole food path due to coupon temptations to save money.

Have you seen the movie? What things are you inspired to change?

I am inspired to:
Make a greater commitment to shopping at my local food co-op.

Buy local/friendly eggs.

Become aware of campaigns like Kevin's law.

I saw Food Inc. and thought it was very eye-opening! I did the 21-Day Vegan Kickstart and Kathy Freston's Quantum Cleanse (also vegan) in January, and watched Food Inc. near the end of it. The story of the little boy who died from the hamburgers still haunts me. :-(

I try to be a "mostly vegan" as a result of the movie and other things I've read. I struggle with my nemesis milk chocolate, though...

That movie really got dh back on the vegetarian bandwagon. I had already been back for a few months. Also really reminded me about the genetically modified stuff. I really try to avoid that.

I saw that movie when it came to our art theater. Loved it, so sad though.

You guys should check out Earthlings!

I just watched it and it was nothing I didn't know already but really a visual reminder. It did kickstart me to locate local sources of my food. I already shop at my farmers market he has so little that I end going to Publix for my organics. I got on local harvest and located a separate organic farmers market in my town (the other side) and sources of other foods like local cheese, goat cheese, goat milk, etc. While I've been waffling back and forth between vegetarian and TF for the past year, after being veggie for 7 years, then SAD for 3 years, then TF for 7 months, then waffling for the last 6 or so, the movie Food Inc, did not make me want to go back to full veggie but more of a local flexitarian (mostly vegetarian occasional local meat). But I still won't touch red meat (beef and pork), haven't in over 10 years. I think that was the world's longest runon sentence .

Anyways, it was a great and eye-opening show!
