No fasting for me while pregnant or nursing.

Nope. My milk supply is very sensitive.

I would pray extra or something though.

I think it depends on the age of your baby and the type of fast. If you're talking bread and water or less - probably not unless nursing a toddler or something.

I'm pregnant & nursing & keeping a modified fast through Lent - not with amount of food but just with type and even still I've broken it a couple times for extra nutrition or when I've been sick. I don't think eating vegan a few days a week is going to hurt my babies, but some times my food allergies make it tricky.

I nursed for almost 4 yrs and never fasted. I would not recommend it because, as I understand it, toxins can be released into your breast milk. another reason to not do any diets, spring cleansing detox, etc.

Instead of an actual fast, a person could abstain from chocolate, sweets, etc. or some other way to remind them of their conviction.

I'm evangelical, and when I fast, I tend to do modified fast (not no food or water or juice only). So, for Lent this year, I gave up cokes, fast food (more difficult than it sounds for a MDC reader ), and meat on Fridays.

I'm pregnant, not nursing, and these things are treats, not essential to life, so I'm fine with it.

I'm attempting to fast this Lent season. DD is 11 months old and gets most of her nutrients from nursing, so what I do is no meat/limited dairy at home during the week. It doesn't sound that hard, but it's been a bit of a challenge. Weekends, I splurge and eat and eat and eat, b/c I'm usually starving by then

I don't know...I mean, I don't know if what I'm doing counts as a real fast. The concept of eating two smalls meals and one regular meals is basically what I do.

I often skip breakfast or only have a piece of fruit. Then I eat a real meal w/ DH on his lunch break. Then we snack or have a sandwhich or pizza slices for dinner when he gets home, which is like 11-12ish. So I never eat a lot at night.

This Lent I'm trying to be conscious about my food choices. Maybe instead of eating that delicious sub, I'll make a wholewheat tomatoe sandwhich.

I also added a Facebook fast...whenever we are to abstain from meat, I abstain from Facebook. Now, THAT's the hard part haha.

i am an avid faster, and i haven't fasted since the beginning of my pregnancy.

my fasts are typically day fasts, or liquid fasts for up to three days, for spiritual reasons. but i haven't done them in a long while now (DS is 18 mo, plus 10 m is 28 m at least!)

i do still do media fasts, though. that's all media--internet, tv, movies, magazines. i keep my books minimal (spiritual based), and select music. i do them every 2-3 months or any time i feel like i need one.
