nighttime leaking...help

HI guys. I have mostly grobabies and prefolds. At night I had been using grobabies with the extra soaker and then I tried changing half way through the night, then I tried there disposable insert and disposable insert with a soaker.

Everything is leaking. I change him too in the middle. I open the diaper and it is not fully wet even. I dont want to go to disposables at night! I do not have this problem during the day unless I go too long.

I am so tired of washing sheets and airing out our wool puddle pad. Help, what do you guys do/use?

Is your son a very heavy wetter? I have found the Baby Beehinds hemp or bamboo fitteds bullet proof. They need a cover, but they are so absorbent. Or I have used BG's stuffed with 2 inserts.
I have never tried a Gro Baby at night ... I found what worked for us and I am too scared of leaking at night to experiment.

It does not sound as if GroBabies are the right choice for you at night. Don't worry. Many cloth diapering parents have one diaper that works well for daytime and another for night.

I have always been a huge fan of wool for night time. I just think it is bulletproof in terms of leaks. So, an Aristocrat soaker might be a good investment. Alternatively, I have found the Mother-ease diapers to be great for night times. They are very, very absorbent. Do you have any pocket diapers? A FuzziBunz or Happy Heinys with several inserts might do the trick.

Sadly, it is a bit of trial and error. However, if you are experiencing a lot of leaks with the Gro-Baby than, as good as that diaper is, it is not the correct one for your nighttime routine.

Good luck!

I agree that a hemp fitted or prefold will work better for you.

I also preferred wool or fleece covers with prefolds for nighttime, a hemp doubler might be something else to consider.

Of what I have used, polar babies happy pants were my fave nighttime cover.

I'm not that familiar with grobabies. Are the inserts stay dry?

Is your lo a side sleeper? I found that my side sleeping ds leaked before his diaper was fully wet at night if I used pockets. I think what happens is that the pee rolls off of the portion that's absorbent too fast to be absorbed into it. Once it gets to the wing, there's nowhere for the pee to go but out

If you don't need a stay dry inner, you might have luck with an absorbent fitted- they are absorbent on the sides.

Thanks everyone! He is a side sleeper and a very heavy wetter! We ordered some new prefolds and covers today, hopefully they will work.
