Woke up at 2:30 with strong, painful contractions, I'd rate them at transition-level compared with my son's birth. They stayed 10-12 minutes apart for the rest of the night, with me trying to doze in between. When I got up they got closer together for a few hours, but then I tried lying down to rest and they almost stopped... They're still very strong when they happen, but so far apart for being this far into labor! My first labor was 18 hours from the time my water broke, but it started with 9 hours of painless contractions every 6 minutes, then moved up to more closely spaced strong ones. This is completely different! I'm trying to tell myself that every labor is different, but it's hard to be patient. I want things to go ahead and move along, not just putter all day. *pout* Come on baby! Trying the birth ball for a while, I should just not lie down any more, I guess. *sigh*
