Has anyone used this with a kindergartner? I really like what I see but I'm not sure if too much of it will go over a younger child's head. Thoughts? TIA!

for what little it is worth i DO plan to start MOH in Kindy here -- merely as a read aloud.

We will do diffnert actitivies, yes, as we do now -- but more for the fun / craft aspect rather than worriying about "learning"

I am a FRIM believe in hooks. Somehting i read about in relations to both learning theropy and also CM.

the more you are exposed to something -- over your hear or not -- the more "you creat a fram work, or hooks" and then next time you encounter something, there is already a "spot for it" so you learn more. ... over and over adn over again.

John Holt in How Children Learn talks about when you learn about a new, small, country and then WOW all of the sudden you hear about it all over. well really -- you just didn't notice it before, it had no where to 'fit" in your reality so it floated on by. Just like get preggo (or try) adn suddenly everyone is preggo.

So I am really a fan of this idea -- having seen it in action ... heck homeschooling books i read 2 years ago make so much more sense NOW, after 2 years of learning.

so we will be doing things like MoH and so on -- even jsut as read a louds as a family -- so when we come back tot he topic again, and again -- be it in a 4 year cycle of history -- or jsut in general life -- more and more will "pack down" (or so i hope )

But since we have not started, not sure how much my thoughts are worth

Yes, I know exactly what you mean! If I decide to use it next year, it will not be a part of a "formal history curriculum", just a fun read-aloud and hopefully a way to lay down a good foundation. The series looks fascinating!
