Exercise Clothes Help!

Thread Starter
I have too major hurdles when it comes to exercise and it basically has to do with being overweight. The thing is due to breastfeeding and not loosing this baby weight my cup size is ridiculous and I can't find a supportive sports bra (I know a G cup is too small, but I'm not completely sure on my cup size but my otherwise I should be a 38 something). Any suggestions for VERY supportive bras in the larger cup sizes??? It's so frustrating because I just can't find anything anywhere so I know I'll have to buy online, which means i can't try it on.

The other problem is that I'm pretty flat footed and my feet are KILLING me. I can't even do certain moves in my videos because of this. Any suggestions for very supportive shoes too? I've heard new balance are good? If they are, any place to buy them for cheap???

Thanks!

My Bravado nursing bra is pretty sporty. I wear it to the Y.

I went to a store called Lady Grace and tried on lots. (all nursing bras they had in my size!) I am large too, and it is very difficult to find one that fits.

Good luck mama!

One of my closest friends has this problem too. She just wears TWO XXL sports bras, and a shelf tank over.

I just work out in my regular bra, but I"m not particularily large. (36 C?)

I always wear a sports bra with a regular underwire bra over it. helps battle the bounce for me.

I have foot issues so I usually use the low impact elliptical or AMT for cardio at the Y. The other day the only thing available was a treadmill. Low impact isn't just for legs. I realized it was minimizing breast bounce!

A friend works for New Balance and recommended this site for discounts

Enell bras are the absolute BEST! I have one and I was a 40E at my height of boobage. I put that sucker on and my breasts wouldn't even wiggle an inch. It was seriously like I didn't have breasts at all anymore. It is absolute heaven to wear. I need to buy a smaller one now, because DS is nursing very little, and I am starting to lose some weight as well, so they are getting a bit smaller, but it still definitely works.

The other great part about Enell bras is they are a dream to put on, rather than a crazy fight to get all of the parts of my body into that are just not flattering as I try to contort into a regular sports bra. (side boobs anyone??) It has a row of about 10 hook and eyes up the front right in the middle and you put it on like a vest. It has really high sides and almost full upper back coverage and really wide straps. Not the most flattering thing in the world alone, but it feels so great.

I hated spending the money on it, but I read a review about it here and bought one and it was so worth it. I was in pain when I so much as ran across a parking lot, and now I can do Zumba (tons of jumping and bouncing) with no pain, no bounce, nothing.

I sound like I work for them here... I don't, I swear!!

Re: the shoes, I have a problem with pronation (basically my footfall is uneven) and I wear $20 orthotics that help a lot, plus the appropriate shoe. I get the orthotics at a store for physical therapy equipment, but I'm sure they're widely available. You might browse around runnersworld.com or other sites that talk about fitness and look for info on shoes to get a sense of what brands will work for you. Or you could go to a running shoe store and ask about brands.

Physmom-
This is a completely different direction to take your shoe issue. Have you heard about the Vibram five finger shoes? They are the opposite of orthotics- instead of trying to "shore-up" your feet, they encourage your feet to strengthen naturally by walking essentially barefoot. I absolutely LOVE mine- shinsplints gone, foot pain gone (my athlete brother got them for me for my birthday). It may not be the right solution for every foot, but it may be worth a look. Be warned, though, they do look a little odd at first...

If you do want to get "regular shoes", I second the suggestion about going to a running store (not big box). They can look at your walking/running style and find a shoe to work with your specific needs.

I love my Adidas shoes. I forget the name, though!

For bras-I do two bras at the same time for extra support. It really does help-especially for any bouncy movements like running.

Can't help on the bra, I have absolutely nothing in that department, lol. But in the same vein as the five finger suggestion, have you tried working out barefoot? I know it won't work for everything, but for home dvd's, aerobics, kickboxing, dancing type stuff it may really help!

Me too ambereva . I have pecs but not those kind LOL! My moms got some uber big boobs and she wears these "moving comfort" ones from athleta.com that are under and around $50

I love the Enell bra too -- rock solid. I went up to E cup and the bounce was really painful.
