Why is it so hard to be so good?

Oh, oh, oh! I just finished paging through baker creek to plan my order. I could order one of everything! Problem is, I still have so much from last year!

Well, I'm out of a few things and want to try a few new tomato varieties, so at least I can live vicariously. Plus I really want to try these Mexican Gherkins. As you may remember, I have a bit of a canning problem. Er, I mean hobby!

I really need to keep my order down to about $25-$30 this year!

Baker Creek is the worst!! I thumb through the pages fantasizing about owning aces and acres to be able to grow it all.

I managed to trim my order this year to about $35. I am focusing on a tea/herb garden and a small veggie garden for DD. It's the first year I probably won't be doing tons of cukes/maters for canning I am back in school so I know I won't have the time.

hurry up spring!!!!

Baker Creek is sooooo tempting! Their catalog this year is out of control. We spent about $60 on seeds and we have a TINY yard! I'm sharing with friends, though. Do you have any neighbors or friends that you could go in with to buy seeds (if you're interested in the same varieties?)

Yeah, last year I ordered about 70 dollars worth from them. This year it was "only" 50. I got some great stuff, though. Including those Mexican Gherkins. I am exited to try these.

I just love how they send you a free seed packet: this year mine was the pink ponderosa tomato which sounds great. Their tomato selection is astounding. I ordered black cherry, green zebra, black krim, a violet jasper cherry tom, and more I can't remember! So great. If we could grow melons better here in zone 5, I would be going crazy on their melon selection as well.

Well, with expedited shipping, I kept it to $45. Whew.

lakeruby, I grow plants for market sale, so I don't have anyone to share with. I just have my customers, so I get the money back eventually, but I have so much of a $150 order from last year leftover, I really shouldn't have gotten too much. I only got 3 tomatoes, including the violet jasper cherry, a purple & orange one, and the mountain princess for my woodsy customers (cooler temps, less sun, ripe in 45 days).

I did order a few packets of sunflowers. My DS wants to grow them so badly, but the two packs we planted last year never grew. Thanks squirrels.

Ah, spring. I get an early start. I plan on dropping all my seeds off at my contract green house next week! Grow babies grow!

I am the same way. I have a box full of open seed packets,or seeds I collected from my yard. I still and circle all the things that I want in all the catalogs.I love edibles and tall growing plants.

Also, the local soil and water is selling seedlings and I could probably spend $100 just there on trees and shrubs. I am thinking of asking dh for a hundred or two from the tax refund for seeds/seedlings.Ofcourse all these seeds means I will have to get some topsoil too!
