Has anyone seen Shutter Island?

My friend asked me to see it tonight with her. It's either that or The Wolfman. I get really scared of some movies. How scary is it? Like nightmares for a week can't be home alone scary? Or just freaky and interesting?

FWIW I was terrified after The Ring but Saw didn't scare me a bit if that helps.

I haven't seen the movie, but I did read the book. It was a thriller but I didn't find it scary at all.

A coworker watched it last night. He said it wasn't scary at all and was a really great movie.

I'm curious to know, too. Gory (like Saw) doesn't bother me at all, but images like those in The Ring and The Grudge really freak me out . . . my partner wants to see Shutter Island, and I think it looks good, just scary.

I have read the book and would describe it as suspenseful and dark, but not frightening at all. It's not a slasher kind of story in the least, if that helps. It's also not a supernatural or ghost story movie (unless they've TOTALLY changed it from the book).

I ended up seeing it and I was glad I did. It was very good (not very scary either, a few edge of your seat moments though)

I saw it last night and didn't like it at all I found it to be predictable and way too looooooong. There were a few touching and believable scenes, but I felt like it had bad casting and acting. And the score was awful.
