quick question

directions say:
Bind off 8 stitches at beg of next and 3 foll alt rows.
Work even for 4 rows.

Am I correct that this means:
Bo 8, knit to end.
Purl
Bo 8, K to end
p
Bo 8 K to end
P
Bo 8 K to end

Then work st st for next 4 rows?
This is what I am thinking is correct. Am I right?

what are you making? -sometimes it helps to know to see if what you're saying makes sense.

Sorry to be so late in getting back to you. I appreciate the help. I knitted it as I understood it and it's worked out so far.
This is what I am making:

I have the body completed and am now picking up stitches for the rib edge.

It's a Debbie Bliss pattern. It's from her book Junior Knits: 25 stylish projects for children three to ten years.

It is finished except for the seaming of the sleeves and sides. I am in the midst of the seaming. I didnt like the way it was coming out so I took it out. I need to try again with a different seaming style.

That sounded right to me. (I made a vest for dh a few months ago and it had plenty those types of instructions to wade through.)

How did it turn out?
