Sorry about that on the other thread....is this the way to do this? I'm not sure if this is right either. I'm new to this website...was on another one and it doesn't match my parenting philosophy..mothering.comdefinitely does!!! I want to do this right..I also don'y know how to do the signature thing at the bottom. Thanks so much!

Cartesia...What was the progression here? My 14 month DS still needs to nurse to sleep and every time he stirs...would love to know how it could turn out...any gentle coaxing techniques? Still get good sleep...would just love some alone time with DH and liitle one not stirring ever 30 min.

Everything you need to know on MDC here

Many use the No Cry Sleep Solution by Elizabeth Pantley for gentle night time parenting techniques.

I just discovered that there is a No Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers and Preschoolers! I know nothing about it, but the original NCSS for babies was just not applicable to my DD anymore by the time I read it at 8/9 months- she was beyond shushing, patting, and still will have no part of being put down awake (besides we co-sleep anyway, so...).

If you and your son are ready you could try night-weaning. I know that has helped a lot of moms and babies sleep longer stretches.
