Please help this tired Momma!

My LO is just about 18 months. She is my 4th and I never had any sleep issues with my boys, so I am at my wits end.

Here is the scenario: She has never been a great sleeper, but a recent move has set us way back. She goes to bed at naptime and at night by herself in her crib. I read a story, sing a song and off she goes. No muss, no fuss. The real problem kicks in a few hours after falling asleep at night. She constantly wakes by at least 11:00 pm, most often 10:30. I go check on her and the only thing that will get her to sleep is coming to bed with me and DH.

Now, I know for most of you, this is ideal , however, she is horrible to sleep with. She kicks, pinches, caresses (read scratches) my belly, and the worst...sits up and just flops backwards...often catching my cheek or belly with the back of her skull. Not fun. I have tried to move her once she is asleep, but she wakes right up.

So, what do I do? Live with sleeping with a LO that beats us up all night , or try to transition her to her crib? I don't really want to CIO, especially since she has already proven on one occasion that it doesn't work for her. Ugh.

Please help.

What about putting her crib next to your bed? At about that age, we put DD next to our bed on a little mattress, and reaching out a hand to comfort her usually did the trick. I usually didn't even really wake up, which for me was much easier than having to wake up all the way to go to another room.

I remember a friend saying to me that moving is really hard on their little souls. It will pass.

I second this idea. Maybe you could even try sidecarring it?
