OPK help...

I just started using OPKs this cycle. I started with $ store tests and got what I thought was a positive yesterday afternoon, it was only the 1 test. Then I recieved my ICs today and used one just cuz and it look like the one from yesterday afternoon.

Here is a pic of the $ tests.

Different tests have different sensitivities... because LH surge is believed to be anything above 20mIU of LH some tests test for that. Some tests test higher because most women do not JUST hit 20 at their surge (many have numbers in the 30-60 range)

Also, your surge comes and goes throughout the day... its not a set level constantly.

so its possible that:

1. your IC tests are more sensitive than your dollar tree tests
2. you are still surging but lost the surge later in the day yesterday... its quite common for women to go positive - negative - positive - negative even on the same brand of tests.

in any case... OPKs only give you an idea that ovulation is likely to happen soon... so get to work! LOL

What Maeryn said I got a so close to positive OPK yesterday afternoon around 2:30 PM and then a very, very positive this morning with SMU around 8:30 AM (pic on TTC in our 20s). I tested 3 or 4 more times today in the afternoon and got negatives every test after this morning. I'm pretty sure I Od sometime yesterday and that's why all my tests are negative now (hoping to confirm this with temps in next couple of days). FWIW, I am using Answer brand. Do you temp at all?

I'm on a phone, so my picture quality isn't that great but your 11:30 test looks like mine that I would say was closer than close, but maybe someone with a better pic can say if it's positive? I have a pic link to my positive on the ttc in our 20s thread that I posted yesterday morning if you want to see mine. I also temp orally btw

ETA oops meant to quote your PP...and here's my link:

ETA(2): I just got another positive right now with SMU. Just goes to show exactly what Maeryn said. I'm actually really surprised after all those negatives yesterday. DH just went out of town, so no BD for me, but we did yesterday and the day before, so I'm hoping that covers me

just one thing- if your opk was positive yesterday and not positive today, that doesnt necessarily mean you o'd last night. it could mean that you are going to o tonight or tomorrow morning too, the way i understand it.

your surge (and your positive opk if you are lucky enough to catch it) comes 12-48 hours before your o, so don't stop dtd if you can until after you see a clear shift in temps. you might o that night, but you could have a positive one day, a negative the next, and still not o for another day. lawmama, dont want you to miss it!

Thanks for the tips karma. The reason I suspect I Od on 2/23 is b/c on 2/24, I had a temp rise and again today. Just waiting for my temp tomorrow to confirm. In any event, dh went out of town, so I'm just hoping the last 2 days of BD cover me lol

Wow yours look great. My tests the lines are darker than the control. I guess I'll just keep testing and see if the lines disappear. I usually O on cd 20, I was hoping that I was Oing earlier.
