2yo with shaky hands?

Not super shaky -- actually almost imperceptible. Only notice it every so often (today when he was feeding himself for example) but also some days when he wakes up from a really deep sleep he'll be sort of whole-body shaky for a minute. Doesn't seem to bother him. I did a little research and it looks like it could be any number of things from nothing to low blood sugar to neurological issues. I saw somewhere that the neurological issues are caused by high bilirubin levels at birth (which he had) and can be related to other motor-coordination issues (which he might have -- he starts speech therapy next week though the evaluators weren't convinced it was a motor issue; he could well just be playing us.) sooo now of course I'm awful curious.

We'll be snowed in through the end of the week and his doctor's office is closed on weekends, so in the meantime before I can get him in to ask for a referral to a neurologist, have any of you dealt with this before? What did it end up being?

A friend of mine has shaky hands & has since she was a young child. Her parents brought her to all sorts of specialists but nothing was ever found to be "wrong". It really doesn't cause her any problems except occassionally when she is trying to something with small details (ie. some crafts).

Is your little potty trained, cause the whole body shake after waking could just be him peeing, I know my DD does this, so that may not be anything to worry about! As for the hands I can't help you there!

If his hands shake when he's holding stuff like spoons it could be essential tremor. That runs in my family pretty heavily and can hit kids just as easily as adults. One of my boys shakes/shivers in the morning a lot when he pees. Some kids have seizures when they wake so I think it's worth videoing for a doctor to look at though it's highly likely not something like that.
