Saw this article...

An article by a doctor. She's got most of the info right. I haven't read all of the comments, but am adding my own anyway.

peace...

I posted my comments in another thread on this topic:

It is a good article, although it recommends gentle retraction once a year on the kid's birthday to see if he is fully retractable yet...?

I really liked what it said (quoting another doctor) about HIV and circumcision rates in America, calling it a failed experiment. This is what the CDC needs to consider in determining whether African studies can apply to the US.

And I am in awe that medical school would teach that babies can't feel pain when they are born. That absolutely goes against common sense. I know many here don't agree with the vitamin K shot, but my son had it 2 hours after he was born, while he was nursing, and he screamed in pain. Fortunately, it was short-lived, probably because of the nursing: suck, suck, scream, suck.

When I had my baby in 2007 they were playing stuff on the tvs in the hospital that was anti-circ. I mean they basically said it was not recommended, etc .. Does this mean they will be changing all their programming to the new advice? Who is going to be left to believe one word of the AAP if they make this recommendation anyway? Not me, they already lost me over their crazy vaccination recommendations, and if they go back to recommending circumcisions I will know they have not a shred of credibility left, not a shred.
