Copious EWCM = more than on egg?

Just curious to know if there's a correlation between the amount of EWCM and the likelihood of having more than one egg released?

I know in my past that at least once I've had more than one mature folli released but I'm not sure if that's a regular occurrence or not. And this month I happened to have a TON of EWCM (I can't remember if the one time I knew I had more than one folli if I had a bunch that month as well).

interesting question!

i have fraternal twins, and i definitely wasnt checking my fertility signs at the time they were conceived, but, without getting into tmi, i have never been one to have a lot of mucous in general. i do however, have low progesterone, and a slow rise, and i have wondered to myself if that slow rise was responsible for the second egg popping out- since that jump in progesterone is supposed to keep your other follicles from popping.

there also are very very rare, but true, cases of twins being conceived a month or more apart. i'm not talking about twins with a big discrepancy in birthweight, i mean real live documented twins conceived widely apart. i wonder how the heck that happens. not that that has anything to do with your question...

i think the cm comes from estrogen, right? i remember reading when my twins were little about higher incidences of twinning in populations that eat a lot of yams, which i believe are related to estrogen.

twins probably happen for a mix of reasons, but one would definitely be from extra fsh, since they do say there is a higher incidence of twins as women age.

I don't know, I'm always amazed at how much my CM can vary by month. I always have a day or two of watery followed by EWCM, but I have TONS (for me) of EWCM this month, hardly any last month--it just varies. I don't know why--personal habits haven't changed (not drinking more water than usual or anything like that)
