Would you use an aluminum bed for your organic veggies?

I need to add one more raised bed for my organic vegetables this year (all the rest are untreated pine) and a friend recommended this circular aluminum bed from Jungs.

Does anyone know if this creates toxicity issues? You'd assume it was food safe, but obviously, since I grow organic, I'm concerned about "bad" albeit conventional things showing up in my food. Any wisdom is appreciated.

I don't think there's a problem. That looks really cool.

I don't know...I have a dd who is susceptible to heavy metal toxicity, so I would worry about leaching, but that's me. (I tried to pull up the pic and nothing came up...)

Take the first http:// and the link will work.

I wonder if that would heat up?

I'm still undecided - just seems so much easier than trying to construct another wood bed and I like the tiered use of space. I just haven't decided whether I should be concerned about any leaching into the food.

I dunno...in re-thinking I probably personally wouldn't plant edibles in aluminum but I am reading this book on green living and I'm tossing my aluminum bakeware and my antiperspirant! LOL I've seen several kits for making beds--from wood to some sort of composite. I have seen pics of tiered beds in the SFG book as well.I actually just put a 12" deep 2x2 inside an 8" deep 4x4 and it's a cool, tiered look!
