Best diapers for a very heavy wetter?

dd will be 4 in May, and diapers are not cutting it. We have BOTH woken up wet the last 4 nights!! I change her 2x during the night still, I have to. She's too little to fit into those good nights because the pee would just leak out of the sides. She's 30lbs and about 37 inches. I've been doubling the diapers also :yawning Are their any brands that are just wonderful? I just want to wake up dry lol

My youngest is the heaviest wetter I have ever seen. We usually cloth diaper, and I had to do disposable at night with him because he soaked through what the diaper gurus suggested was the best within 3-4 hours. Anyway, my hands down favorite is Huggies overnights. They are diapers, not the good nights pullups things, and they are amazing. In my area, they were difficult to find in the larger sizes, but they look like this. They go up to a size 6, which is about the same size as the small Goodnights pullups. When she is bigger, I like the Goodnights for nighttime even better. WSalmart was teh only place that caried them locally above a size 3.

ETA: I also used a wool cloth diaper cover or a fleece snap diaper cover (can't think of the brand) over disposables when I ran out of nightime diapers or the store was out. That usually worked to contain it.

Thanks for the info, we got the huggies overnights size 5 at CVS tonight. Crossing fingers they will work, if not, I'm going to get a wool diaper cover.

LOL.. no choice but to use disposables at this point. cloth diapers lasted one pee, literally. I used prefolds with diaperap diaper cover. She peed through both within an hour.

Hmmm...I don't know then since we mainly use cloth. I think I saw some sort of "new" pampers though that were specifically for 12 hours... I'm sure you don't want to invest in more cloth if you've had issues, but I have definitely found that with certain cloth diapers my son is much less likely to leak at night.

Our bed was NOT soaked this morning so the huggies overnights were a success!

I was wondering if they have any absorbency in the sides of the diapers? That is what I've been trying to find. Even the nighttime pull-ups are not at all absorbent on the sides. DS sleeps on his side and we have not found any disposables that will contain even one pee at night due to the side issue. He wears Mother-Ease toddler size diapers at night, with a liner folded in half (so 3 thick layers of fabric) and we still need to change him 2-3x a night. The changes aren't so bad, but he is very close to outgrowing those diapers, so I'm really interested in finding something else!

Yay! These were going to be my suggestion also. I hated Huggies during the day, but the overnights were great.

FWIW- I have found that good nights are not meant to hold more than one accident. I wish they made the Huggies Overnights in a version of goodnights iykwim.

I have had good luck moving to the Goodnites after ds outgrew the huggies overnights diapers. Not the regular pullups, or even the overnight versions of pullups, but the actual goodnites for bed wetting/older kids. I usually use cloth trainers during the day, but still need the super heavy absorbency at night.

mama2Xander, have you tried 1 size up or down? We only had the side leakage issue when needing to switch sizes, and he was sort of in between the sizes. We had problems both when we moved up too soon, as well as wehn we needed to move up but hadn't.

My son leaks in Mother Ease too. Swaddlebees organic cotton velour pockets are what has worked for us...we just double stuff at night and rarely have leaks.

I've had good luck double-stuffing a fitted pocket with a wool cover.

I used to use two Huggies with a cloth fitted over them and a wool cover over that. Often the cloth one wouldn't even be wet and sometimes the second disposable would stay dry too but not always, do it was very helpful to have them all. DS was a super heavy wetter too, which I've heard is a sign of salicylates sensitivity.
