Had to share a sweet story

We went to visit friends a few weeks back. Story: The mom has two DDs. She BF'd the first for a few months and quit because she couldn't handle it mentally/emotionally. For this reason the second was formula fed from the start.

I was BFing DS and she noticed her DDs (6 and 3 I think) looking and then looking away curious like. So she said, "If you're curious you can ask about it." And I encouraged them to ask questions. Her older DD was most interested.

Her: Some babies drink milk from a bottle and some babies drink from their mommy.
DD: From her boobie?
Her: Yep. The milk from there is best for the baby.
DD: Did I suck on your boobie?
Her: For a little while.
DD: Oh.
Me: Don't be embarrassed to ask me questions okay?
DD: Okay.

The rest of the trip when I would BF DS she would say, "Is he sucking on your boobie again?" Me, "Yep" "Oh, he was hungry?" and they would say things like, "When I was a baby I did that too."

It was adorable. I just had to share

I had a similar experience with my niece. She was five last fall and all full of questions, wanting to be with us, wanting to watch and figure it all out. I think she felt special after that because only mommies can feed their babies this way.
