Corn chips with few ingredients?

I was wondering if anyone has a good suggestion for corn chips to eat with salsa that are only made from corn, oil and salt? I don't do the shopping so I was hoping to find a suggestion to send my Mom with. Thanks

Do you have a local brand? That is what I buy. They are made with fresh tortillas, so they probably will also list lime as an ingredient.

This is my brand: http://www.casasanchez.com/About.html

Also, those are vegetarian chips so they are fried in canola and not lard if it matters to you.

Believe it or not, regular old FRITOS are just "whole corn, corn oil, and salt".

you can buy corn tortillas, cut them up, and then bake them on an ungreased cookie sheet until crispy. 350 for ten minutes, then check them and bake a bit longer.

much better than fried chips.

We get Trader Joe's brand corn chips because they taste like Fritos, but are made with organic (and not GMO) corn.

Another surprise... Fritos, which is a Pepsi brand, does not let their farmers use GMO corn. It's not organic, but it's not genetically engineered. I know this because my family are farmers and about 10 years ago, this was something that came up with the farmer that cash rents my and my father's land (in beans and corn). We now only produce feed-grade corn. I'm sure there is some info out there about it if you google for it.

I buy Nana's Cucina at Whole Foods, or store brand organic at Wegmans.

Basically all the plain (unflavored) corn chips are just corn, oil, salt. Same with plain potato chips. Different brands use different oil. Once you get any flavor (even so-called "salt and vinegar), you start having lots of additives.

The Nana Cucina chips are delicious...they're my first choice. Usually we just get Santitas because they're cheap ($2 a bag), available everywhere, and tastier than the other mass-market brands.

I like Garden of Eatin blue corn chips. The yellow ones are yummy too

Just corn chips, oil (safflower or sunflower), salt - AND they are made with organic corn, which I prefer since most non organic corn is GMO

Kettle brand is another we like (also org).

I make them out of corn tortillas too - they are so delicious!

You can find thinner corn tortillas, those work better for chips.

We buy little bear corn chips cause' I think they taste better than garden of eatin'. I've never heard that frito doesn't use gmo corn and googling I'm not seeing anything about that more recent than 2000/2003, which makes me skeptical. I honestly don't see the point in buying corn tortillas and frying them yourself... seems like a huge hassle to me, but whatever.

I would be skeptical, too if I didn't know first-hand. I don't know what google is going to give you, but I'm just telling you what I know as the owner of farm land that grew corn for them. That's really my only "evidence".
