FRER Question

Thread Starter
So I am now 6 days past ovulation. According to the FRER instructions you can take the test 6 days before the period. It also says that, "in this study, all samples from pregnant women tested positive by 4 days before the missed period. I only have a 10 day luteal phase. I took an FRER today and yesterday and both were negative. So tomorrow would be the day right? I took them early because I felt as if I might be pregnant. My uterus is sore like the last time I was pregnant and my heart rate has increased. Tomorrow will be 4 days until my period.

However, I am guessing that the company who makes FRER is assuming that women have a longer LP than me. So I dunno if tomorrow would be an accurate day to test or not.

Thoughts?

I think the representations about X days prior to missed period are based on a standard of a 14 day luteal phase, meaning that the earliest they would expect a + is 10 DPO (or right when you would be expecting AF).

At any rate, you at need to have implantation to begin producing HCG, which may not have occurred yet even if you have a sucessfully fertilized and dividing egg.

I'm with you on the short luteal phases, ranging from 7-10 days, but I think both you and I have to wait it out as long as everyone else to test.

I think the standard reasoning is that women have a 14 day LP, and therefore the tests can be taken at about 10DPO & be fairly accurate. The longer you wait, the more accurate the result will be.

I only have an 11 day LP, so I worry that if I do get pregnant, it's too late to stick since AF will start so soon afterwards.
