"baby bjorn SMART potty" anyone?

Hi, mamas!

Looking for a new potty seat. Was going to get the clear wunderpotty (or wundersomething...), but it's discontinued, or a BBLP. Looks like BabyBjorn has a new one, the BBsmartP. Anyone tried it? If so, how does it seem? It appears to be a perfect hybrid of the BBLP and the BBPC -- looks to be in the middle, size wise, has a removable insert, and has a non-slip bottom. Sounds great to me. My DD is a big almost-10 month old.

thx!

It looks just like the potty chair but without the back...? Is it just the size that makes it smart? I like it! I might get one for our newly renovated downstairs play area.

That said, my daughter is 17 months and we still use the BBLP as our main potty (we keep it in the living room), because she can take herself to it without assistance. The BBPC is too high backed for her to swing her leg over, and if she tries to back into it to sit down, she sometimes ends up knocking the removable seat off centre. I imagine if we used the smart potty as our main one in the living room, the insert would be removed, and lost among her toys.

I really like the little potty doesn't have the insert, which makes it really easy for her to pee in it, and carry it all the way to the toilet herself (although she still needs help dumping the pee in the toilet).

I keep it out for her to use on her own, but I take her to the bathroom with me whenever I need to use it myself (so she's now having greater success, and quicker pees, on the toilet or PC, than she is the LP).

Hope that helped some!

It does look like the BBPC without the back, but in the pics on the Bjorn site, they have a smaller baby in the BBLP, an older baby in the BBSP, and a toddler in the BBPC. It makes it look like it is actually lower than the BBPC but higher than the LP... I should probably just get a LP, but I am attracted to the nonslip bottom and the removable cup, though your point about your child being able to carry the whole potty herself is compelling!

Anyone try it??

I don't actually have the BBSP because my son chose the BBPC when we were shopping BUT we did have him sit on it in the store.

The BBSP is a little taller than the BBLP and a little shorter than the BBPC.
The insert is the same as the BBPC and the hole is longer than the BBLP.
The removable insert can be a boon - my daughter takes it over to her daddy as her signal to pee/poop.....wish she'd do that with me too!

I make sure to keep it clean between uses so if it is used as a toy (which it is by both ), I'm not so icked out.

I think you could definitely go with it rather than the BBLP - I had to buy a 2nd BBPC for my 1 yr. old daughter because she liked her brother's better than her own BBLP. She just seems to like sitting higher up...plus her butt kind of sank into the BBLP and would get stuck. We have just assigned the BBLP as the car potty.

Thanks so much. Just the info I needed!

That was interesting, I have never seen the smart potty anywhere.

We started with the potty chair when we first started to ec because it had the higher back for when my son couldn't sit unassisted yet. When he out grew that, we switched to this frog potty. It looks like it is probably similar to the smart potty, with the lower back and removable insert. Plus it is cheap and usually stocked at Target and Walmart. Just another idea!

I have one. I recently started PLing with my 17 month old. I decided to skip the BBLP due to his age. We're happy with it.
