Messy Party

Thread Starter
I'm thinking about setting up a messy party for my nephew's fifth birthday (after asking his mom, first, of course). What are some good activities for it?

I was thinking about painting with pudding, but what else?

Any practical things I should know? Like how to write up the invitation? How to set up the messy areas?

Thanks

Cornstarch and water makes a great goop for kids to play with, and it's easy for you to clean up after.

Frosting cupcakes or cookies with all the sprinkles and candy toppings is a huge hit, but oh man, the sugar high.

If it's nice weather, turn a hose on to a trickle and let them make rivers and dams.

A big box of flour with construction trucks to drive.

Hang a giant piece of paper and put out tons of paints and brushes.

Let them wash the car.

home made slime is super fun and would make for FABULOUS pictures! I love the painting with pudding idea. I did flour and water once and it was really hard to get out of the hair (just fyi).

In the summer a giant mud puddle would be awesome!

I've wanted to do this for a long time, but when I floated it past my friends, (the ones whose kids would come) there were concerns for EVERT freaking idea. Flour? Bad for asthma. Cookie decorating? Too much sugar. Goop? Don't like messy hands.....and my friends are all super AP, easygoing parents. Weird.

Would love to do it still.... and would include flour and water on a tarp, baking soda and vinegar volcanos, mentos and diet coke geisers, decorating your own cupcakes/ worms and dirt cake. Perhaps finger painting on the sidewalk? cornstarch and water too...for sure.
