Man.... giving me chills here... Is anyone else watching? I never would have put those two together, but they are absolutely stunning together.

Okay... the second song with the Sacred Harp singers was even better. They should have let Tim Eriksen (the bald guy conducting in the back) sing by himself though - he's got the most amazing voice of them all.

Just talking to myself here, I know - that was just too exciting not to share! :LOL

they were lovely.

and I think the duo sort of makes sense.

I think when you cut to the roots of bluegrass it is all the clans from the british isles and their tunes...kwim?

I love Sting !! They sounded great, although I wasn't crazy about the second song, it was ok

Loved both songs. I am a huge HUGE Alison Krauss fan.

The first song was very nice.

I'd like to hear Annie Lenox and Sting do something together.

Does anyone know anything about that instrument Sting was playing?

edited for spelling

Sting was playing a hurdy-gurdey. I'm not sure of the origin--maybe French, or British Isles. We have a couple of cd's by this great band, Ad Vielle Que Pourra--wonderful French music, that uses lots of Hurdy Gurdey.

I particularly loved the first song--so beautiful and haunting. I thought it should have taken the Oscar instead of the LOTR song.

I love Alison Kraus.......and thought her and Sting sounded great together. Id also like to see Sting do something with Annie, as I think she is a phenomenal singer! Good to see her back!

Annie is amazing-I think she looked phenomenal-even with that kind of crazy look in her eye. :LOL

I thought the first two songs were amazing, makes me want to buy the soundtrack. I didn't really care for Annie Lennox's song but I did think that her hair looked amazing!

The song Annie sang was ok......its just her voice that is so amazing and brilliant to listen to. She could sing the phonebook and have my full attention!
