What show(s) would we like?

Recently we really enjoyed watching the Everwood series. In the past we have also enjoyed
Quantum Leap
The Waltons
Stargate (more my husband than me)
Wild America (should do this again now that my son would probably love it too)
Firefly (more my husband than me)

We're currently watching but not really glued to Thirty Something and Northern Exposure.

Any ideas on what would be good for us?

From your list, I'm wondering if you might like Smallville?

We are pretty big sci-fi/fantasy lovers, so we like it, but it might also go with your enjoyment of traditional type shows, like the Waltons. There is definitely a "there is a right way/wrong way" type of vibe on some of the episodes.

What about Star Trek Voyager? I am not that into Star Trek, my DH is much more than me, but I really like this one.

This was my thought. Voyager has a different vibe than the other Star Trek series. It's very character-based and the acting, while a bit cheesy, is a little more believable than other Star Trek series. Also the Smallville... It's fluff, but it's good.

Also, perhaps Buffy the Vampire Slayer? I assumed I would dislike Buffy, so only got into it in the last few years, and... it's good. Totally honest about being ridiculous and unblievable.

X-Files? Perhaps keep a season or two around and pop one in when you have nothing else to watch. There *is* an overarching storyline, but the episodes can also be watched one-at-a-time as standalone stories.

Northern Exposure? Quirky, but kind of addicting.

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. Hmm... my husband has suggested Buffy. I have never actually seen one. Maybe I should give them a go.
I watched the orginal Star Trek in re-run and The Next Generation with my family a long time ago when I was a young 'un. It wouldn't be unfaithful of me to try Voyager.
And two recs for Smallville. My husband thinks this might be a winner.
Some of them I am going to have to look up. We watch so little *real* TV that I feel like I've been in a hole every time someone mentions *new* shows; I have no idea what they are talking about.
About HBO - they made the Rome series, yes? We have watched a few of those (my husband is a classicist) and liked them, I just can't watch a couple of episodes every night. I never thought of myself as squeamish, but there's a lot of blood in Rome. But we like it so we'll watch one every now and again.

Go for it. ONE of those three will tickle your fancy.

They're three shows that I own a few seasons of (OK, I own ALL the Buffy seasons ) and still go back on occasion and watch an episode or two when I need to unwind.
