That Was Weird (TMI)

Yesterday morning, when I went to the restroom, I was spotting the tiniest amount. I put a panty liner in thinking I was starting my period, but the next time I went to the restroom, the panty liner had nothing on it. I changed it, and throughout the day, the same thing happened, I had the panty liners in, but there was nothing on them. This morning, there was nothing on it when I woke up, so I went ahead and took it out. This afternoon, I was walking around the house straightening stuff up, and all of a sudden, I felt a *huge* gush. When I went into the restroom, there was a big clot, I guess, about the size of a golf ball, and after that, just a bunch of bleeding. I cleaned up and put a tampon in. About an hour later, I went to the restroom again, and I had bled through the tampon and it was leaking through. I took it out, cleaned up again, and put another tampon in. I just took it out a few minutes ago, just to be safe, and not only was it not leaking, but there wasn't *anything* on it.

I'm slightly concerned, because I've never had anything like that happen before, and I've never had any kind of clots before, let alone anything that big or sudden like that. I have an appointment with my family doctor tomorrow for something else, should I mention it to him and/or ask him to schedule me an appointment with a gynecologist? Is it something that just sometimes happens and I shouldn't worry about it?

I don't know if it would make a difference or not, but I've had one Depo-Provera shot three and a half months ago. I was on it before a few years ago and didn't have any kind of side effects or anything, but maybe that's what it was?

TIA

Are you having regular periods?

I went a few months without a period and had a ton of clots after that. Huge ones like you describe. My doctor told me the clotting could have been because the lining had built up from not having one each month for a while.

I would go ahead and mention it to put your mind at ease- but I don't think it is anything to worry about, no.

Could you be pregnant and having a miscarriage? I would definitely mention it to the doctor. Wishing the best for you.

That is quite possible.
