Underwear at home

DD has been doing pretty good even though she doesn't signal at all, I go on a combination of timing and intuition. Anyway I have always used some form of backup at home such as ECA Pants or I double up cheap cloth Wal-mart trainers and then when I run out of those I used my Gro-Baby Dipes! But a couple days ago I decided that it was time to try underwear, and so far it is awesome! I still use water-proof trainers or cloth while out and when I put her in her highchair for meals as she is notorious for peeing in her highchair, maybe I should either take out the padding or put something water-proof in it! I will have to see about that! So far only a couple misses a day! and so much easier to just pull up and down!
DD is also dry most nights, not sure if it is a blessing or a curse cause she used to STTN but not anymore, she decided she wanted to EC at night even though I would prefer not too!

I'm not sure what you mean by cheap cloth walmart trainers, but we use the waffle cotton underwear gerbers here (also bought at Walmart). They're FANTASTIC. They go on like underwear, but have a thickish weave to catch small pees without leaking (they of course will leak if the pee is big). And you can always double up if the leaks are big.

I swear by them. They're the ONLY thing that keeps my daughter aware of her elimination, if she's not nudie bum.

We have just bought panties for at home also, but we are using the padded ones by gerber. My daughter pees in them all the time though and I dont know if it is because she is used to naked bum or what. Anyway, as far as the highchair thing, my DD is the same and for some reason loves to pee in hers as well. We have just taken the padding out and now sit a hand towel in it when we put her in, that way her bum doesnt stick and if she wets the towel catches it. Sounds like your daughter is doing great...

we use tiny undies from the ec store. My dd has been in them full time during the day since 7 months. she is 14 m now and still doesn't do much to signal yet so it is based mostly on timing and intuition. I was just going to do undies at home but it was a pain switching from one system to the other so we went full time in a matter of days.
For the high chair problem we switched from our padded high chair to a wooden restaurant high chair that sits directly at the table. I would keep a pre-fold or two under her to catch any misses.
If you decided to make the jump for out and about as well:
a piddle pad and a pre-fold for the car seat
a bblp in the car
in the diaper bag: 2 x-tra pre-folds, 2 waterproof trainers (if I am running out of outfits or have just had enough or we are getting close to bed time), 4 pairs of pants with 2 matching tops, 5 pairs of undies, about 4 dry cloth wipes, a small sprayer w/ bacout, a wetbg etc. That seems like a lot but is packed for a full day bcs we are gone often and takes up less space than when I would pack for a full day with diapers. I have always had plenty and she does WAYYYYYY better when we are out than at home.
good luck and have fun.

Isn't it great to find something that is easier than what you were doing before? Awesome!
