WOW! i don't have TV but i've been following along on the ap feed (that's not ap for attachment parenting, by the way! ;-)

that's nice to see they finally got their due, after two other years of pretty much being ignored.

anyway, it made me happy!

I'm glad too - first to see my hobbits together one last time.... and I thought they deserved it. I was really glad about the Score winning, I never pay attention to music in movies, but I saw ROTK 3 times and the 2nd two times I realized how often the music carried the movie without much dialogue (ie: when Pippen is singing and Faramir is riding to Osgiliath and Denethor is eating like a pig, or most of the end, like the Gandalf on the eagles....). Just amazing....

Long Time Tolkien Geek here...

I can't tell you how relieved I am that the LOTR films were SO good, that all 3 films were nominated, and that ROTK won best film. I mean, we all knew that someday, someone would make these books into a film. I was so worried, beginning back in 1998 when I heard some guy was starting the process, worried that they would be a joke. :

Wow, as a geek I can die a happy woman now!

owensmom, right on about the music with the Pippen/Faramir/Denethor scene, I thought it was the most moving moment of the film

Hip Hip Hooray!!!!

Peter Jackson and crew deserved these awards so very much. It was great to see how surprised he was and I love the fact that he still looks shabby, his tie was too loose (and not the appropriate bow tie, either) and he still hadn't shaved. Good for him for not falling to the pressure of society, especially at such a fancy place. Fran looked great, and I was so happy that Alan Lee (I think that is the guys name??) and others won for set and art design. I am also a huge LOTR nerd and this was just what they deserved. And none of it ever would have happened if it weren't for Tolkien.

Finally, a movie I like was nominated and won.

They deserve it, especially Peter Jackson.
