I have never posted in this forum, but I wanted to share a cute little story.
I am divorced (July of last year) and have a 5 year old daughter from a previous relationship. DD and I co-slept a lot during her early years, as I was going back to school and had many early morning classes, so co-sleeping allowed us to be able to to eat and sleep without too many restless nights.
Well, my xDH was never too keen on it, but was "ok" with it if she came in during the early morning and crawled in bed on my side. And it seemed to work for us.
Well, I started dating a man a few months back (who loves DD and she loves him. they send txt messages to each other on my phone, lol!), and he recently came to spend the weekend with me and DD. I am not one to let the man I am not married to sleep in my bed, but we fell asleep talking in my room. I woke up to find DD snuggled up to me on my side of the bed, and his arm around me, and the other one up over my and dd's heads, holding her hand, in their sleep! And when he woke up, he didn't utter a word about her being in bed with us. In fact, I had to run an early morning errand before either of them woke up, and came home ot find them snuggled in my bed! I am glad I found someone who also thinks that co-sleeping is quite normal.
