Where did her poop go?

So my new babe is 1 month tomorrow - and she is on a poop strike. She went two days w no poop, then had a lot of it, rather thicker the usual mustard.

Now we're on the third day since then w no poop. Lots of baby farts though. Tell me I don't need to worry?!

nope! totally normal. I'm assuming she's breastfed. It's totally normal for BF babies to go a week or longer between poops. It starts at about a month and goes....until they start solids?? Breastmilk is so perfectly tailored to her needs that there's very little waste.

Be warned though...the longer she waits between poops (and she'll develop her own poop pattern) the bigger the blow-out when she finally does go!

Both my kids only went every 5-7 days until they started eating solids..

I worried a bit with my 2nd ds, now 3 months, when he hadn't gone for 7 days. It was definitely a bit strange looking, orange and thick but considered normal. He now still goes about once a week or so. Once it was explosive and thick, just kept coming and coming that it made me and ds (4.5 yrs) laugh at how crazy it seemed.

I agree with the PP - DS is 3 months and goes every 2-3 days or so. But when he does go! boy, is it a mess! People laugh at me when I tell them, but it really does seem like creamy peanut butter

perfectly normal, the funny thing is so many people seem used to formula fed babies, so when I tell them DS only poops like 2-3 times a week, they look at me strange, but for an EBF baby it is quite normal.
