Am I out or still possible to get BFP?

Today I am 9dpo and I usually have a 10 day luteal phase. I still got a BFN this morning after holding my pee uncomfortably all night. I have been feeling an achy fullness in my uterine area, the same as last time I was pregnant. I was sure it was implantation. I had what looked like an implantation dip on cd7, and thought for sure by today I would have a positive HPT.

Do you think it is still possible? I know I am testing early, but considering my 10 day LP and the fact that I hvae had cramps for the last two days, seems I would be out putting some hcg by now if I was preggo.

http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/123e11 My usual time to temp is 7am but I haven't been able to sleep past 6:30 for almost a week.

That's not the right link for your chart...

But I don't think you're out yet, 9 DPO is super early. I don't think it matters what your luteal phase is in terms of being able to test. I know alot of tests say "accurate 4 or 5 days before your period" but they are assuming a 14 day LP. If you don't get AF tomorrow test again. Good luck.

Ooops, thanks...I fixed it.

agree, you're not out yet.

My implantation symptoms were 6dpo and I didnt get my first maybe-positive until 12dpo!

Even if you have a 10 day LP your body could just take a bit longer to metabolize the hcg into your urine or be doubling slightly slower (which can be TOTALLY healthy) and end up with you not even getting a bfp until after AF is missed!

Plus, you have 2 days until AF is even due if you are 9dpo with a 10 day lp... so of COURSE you have time!

Well, that's certainly good to know and give me some hope. Now I have to go out and buy more HPT's.

Your chart looks great but the + OPKs for 2 days after ovulation is throwing me...

Yes, I totally agree with what the PPs have said -- coming from a short LP myself, I actually couldn't test until the day AF would have arrived, which was 11dpo! You're not out until AF shows -- so go buy more tests and hang in there

Today I am 10dpo and I am feeling very discouraged. The only hope I have is Mae's post about not getting a maybe positive until 12dpo. I have peed on another FRER stick and any normal person would say it was negative. However I scrutinize and stare and I think I see the faintest shadow of a line from a certain angle.

Also, when I temped this morning, I don't know what tempt to use. I put a cold thermometer on the left side of my mouth and it read 98.4 (a drop). Then I remembered I wanted to temp on my left side because it always reads higher, so immediately I did and it was 98.6.

Also I am using progesterone cream, so I don't know when I should completely give up if I am not pregnant. Not yet of course, but when?

Tonya - Your temps are still nice and high above the coverline. Either temp would be OK. I would keep taking the cream until AF shows. I'm 8 DPO and totally know what you mean about testing. I took another FRER (keyword Another, i tested yesterday at 7 dpo) and it was SOOOO negative. So I then took a picture of it in the sunlight and tried to squeeze any pink out of a second line. So I blew it up to like 9000% and then had a enormous 12 inch BFN laughing at me on my screen. Hang in there....I'm going to wait a few more days and try to spazz down and test again.

Well, I know what you mean. I have been taking FRER every day. Completely illogical and big waste. I just keep going back to look at the stupid tests to make sure I didn't miss anything or that nothing changes.

Tonya, I actually find it really hard to throw tests out, but I threw out a bunch ("bunch", yikes) last night. It felt good, nothing to stalk or stare at. I know a test isn't really accurate after the time limit but staring at a 3 day old evap will inevitably lead me to looking up due dates and perusing bassinettes. That can't be healthy...

im in a similar situation too tonya, except i am 14 dpo. bfns. im holding on only because there is a chance my o date is wrong- ff wanted to put it at what i have as dpo 3, so i'm giving it another day or two before i stop the progesterone, just in case. stopping it feels like pulling the plug. that must sound overly dramatic, but i just think, what if it's one of those late babies that doesnt show up till 15 dpo, and im wrong about when i o'd. i dont like this feeling of having to decide to stop it. at this point i dont feel pg but i really never have before a pos test, in fact, with 1 of my pregnancies, the thought didnt occur to me to test until 6 wks, and w my dd, i didnt figure it out until almost 8 wks ( d'oh!)

i also dont understand ff's theory that when you test has to do with how long your normal LP is. someone with a 16 day LP who has a baby implant on day 8 is still probably going to have a +hpt by day 11 or 12, but someone who normally has an 11 day LP with a baby that implants on day 8 still prob isnt going to have a +hpt until around day 11 or 12. a short LP isnt going to make the baby implant any sooner, right?

Yeah, I've been pulling them out of the trash can. Fortunately the garbage truck came today and my husband dumped out all the trash cans. I always got evap lines after the tests dried.

I don't think having a short LP will make baby implant sooner. That is why people with short LP's have more miscarriages and benefit from progesterone cream. So you are right. It is hard to stop the progesterone, because it is hard to take a chance for sure!

karmab -- from what I've read, NPC doesn't really stop AF from coming if she's on her way the way that an rx progesterone supplement can, so if I were you, I'd keep taking the NPC until you get your BFP (even on 16dpo!) or AF shows.

Ya know that is true. Because when I was pregnant last time which resulted in a miscarriage, I was taking natural progesterone suppositories and still started bleeding. Though I didn't get the full AF/miscarriage until after I stopped.
i am taking the progesterone suppositories. my hcp told me to take them for 14 days after o, and if no af by 14 days, take a test, and if it's neg, stop the suppositories, and if it's pos, con't and call her. so i just added back in the temp i'd discarded, and ff moved my o date to 3 days later with dotted crosshairs. i guess it's better to waste a few extra days than make a big mistake and stop the progesterone too soon.

My Ovulation Chart

thank you tonya for letting me sort of hijack your post. it helps a lot to hear from other gals who are going through the same kind of thing or who have been there.

That makes total sense, karmab...that's what my hcp said, too. and GL!!!
