YES!!!!

OceansEve - we have!! The little arms are constantly going around my neck! My babe is also cranky and sleeping more the past few days - each nap is a seriously long one, and he went to bed super early tonight! Close to bedtime, he screams a bunch. He even threw one of his bedtime books. Nights involve sitting up & screaming in his sleep. I wonder if this is some kind of big growth spurt or other kind of big developmental change.

Not so clingy, but definitely have the sitting up and screaming in his sleep, or just simply screaming in his sleep. He shares a room with DD and wakes her up so I have to RUN to get him if he starts that and then he spends the rest of the night with us in our bed. DD ends up in bed with us eventually anyways, and gets woken up by the shrieking. I think the developmental changes are doing it. DS has learned to pull-up, cruise, trade (pass things back and forth with me), climb stairs and say "mama" all in the last week. And he has just started to get MAD at DD when she takes his toys away from him, also in the last week.

Yes to the regression in clingyness! It's mostly in the evenings and at night. She wants to be snuggled on my arm all night, the second I try to move her to her sidecar bed she wakes right up. At least the addition of the sidecar has given us more room in the bed, even if she doesn't sleep in it. And I don't mind snuggling at night, but in the evenings she'll fall asleep in my arms and wake up if I try to lay her down, so I feel bad for just having to go pee and waking her up!

Teething and biting - Olivia has done this too. Not so much recently, but in the past when she has done it I did the same thing, tensed up whenever she went to latch on. I got in the habit of telling her "gentle, please" and putting my boob in her mouth so that I knew she wasn't just going to bite my nipple. If she bit down, it would be on my breast which wouldn't hurt as much. Also if she starts to bite down and pull her head back, I lean forward and push my boob in her mouth, which usually makes her just let go without the scraping of her teeth! Ouch!

Welcome newcomers!

DS has 8 teeth. He still bites and scrapes some days, but not nearly as much as when they were first coming in, thank goodness. The last time he bit, a couple days ago, I said, "THAT HURT!" and must have given him a mean look, because he pouted his lower lip and then burst into tears like I had broken his heart. Made me feel so bad!

Good luck with the job, Peppermint Poppies! I usually work about 12 hrs/wk, and I find it to be a pretty good balance. Just enough to keep up my skills and pay for the groceries. I think my DH appreciates me more after having the kids to himself now and then. Yesterday I worked, and when I came home, DH was thrilled with himself that he had managed to do one load of laundry. I told him, "Now you know why I feel so accomplished when I manage to do dishes AND laundry the same day!"

Anyone else have kids who whose schedules were thrown off by the time change? DS was up till almost midnight last night, and DD was up til 12:30. DS fell asleep at 8, but only slept enough to be recharged for 3 more hours! And DD won't calm down to sleep, because it's just too exciting to have baby brother awake so late...

Em's 6th tooth finally broke through yesterday-- the most recent 4 were all coming in at once, the front row on top (has had the bottom front two for a while). That was pretty bad. But once they are actually cut, she seems to calm down.

She's actually getting better with clinginess. She had WICKED separation anxiety starting at about 6 months, at its worst she wouldn't even let her dad hold her. She had to be near and/or touching me constantly. Literally. But in the past month (she's 11 months old tomorrow), she's slowly started growing out of it. You have to give her time to relax to a new surrounding or a new person, and then usually she will go to them. It's much easier if, instead of me HANDING her to someone else, I get her comfortable on a sofa, or on the floor playing, and then the other person picks her up from there.

I'd planned for it and started adjusting her bedtime little by little in the week leading up, so it wasn't too bad for us. We only have one to deal with right now, though

I am going to wager that my DD will be the last May baby to get teeth here. Any takers?
Hi Blessed Mom -
I'm thinking we are in the running for this. Olivia was born 5/9 , is 10 months, 1 week, 2 days old (but who is counting!). No teeth, not a single one. She is constantly putting things in her mouth to gum, most recently her favorite is her index finger. I suspect she will sprout a mouthful of teeth overnight some day. But not today. Probably not tomorrow either.

My DD was born May, 31st AND was born 5 weeks early (so she is kind of small compared to some of your babes)...AND shows no signs of teething...so am guessing I should win this easily

Clinginess--YES, just in the past few days too!

P has "only" bit me a couple of times, and each time it probably wasn't that hard. But I'm a huge wussy when it comes to any sort of nipple pain, and involuntarily yelped (maybe shouted?) loudly each time. Then I would spend the next couple of days very tentatively starting out our nursing sessions. Yikes.

Good luck with the job, Peppermint Patties! I work 4 days a week, wish I could cut it down to 3 days, but it just isn't possible.

No time change here, but over the weekend we were out and about till 9ish a couple of nights in a row, and Piper's pushed back her bedtime about an hour. Working on getting in back to 7:30 or so.

Oh, the time change Seriously, is it REALLY necessary to mess up everyone's internal system every 6 months? Really? But even though bedtime sucks, I will admit that the first two mornings were nice because my clock said it was 8 instead of 7.

Luke hasn't gotten to the separation anxiety/clingy phase yet and I keep waiting for it to hit. At the moment, he's more in a "Let's see how quickly I can crawl away from Mama" phase. He turns back to find me, and if I'm walking towards him, turns around and crawls away extra fast

Blessed_mom - our dd's share a birthday!

Olivia has 5 teeth now, I think. She has the typical first four, and then this morning I swear I felt an incisor in there! She won't let me get my finger all the way in there without wiggling and biting, so I'm going to have to wait until nap time to find out for sure. I had thought this one was coming in, kinda surprised at it's location though!

Anyway, we've been cooking all day, Guiness Corned Beef and Cabbage, Soda bread, and some butterscotch blondie brownies!

Here is a picture of Olivia helping me today:

Oh I forgot about soda bread, bet I could make some before dinner We're having corned beef as well but no cabbage. I had some Yuengling in the fridge so I just poured some of that in there.

I checked today and Laine has tooth number two on top with #3 following close behind. I'm surprised she got it so quickly. She's only bitten me a couple of times, I refuse to nurse after she does it whether we're mid-nursing or not. She's not too clingy, she's pretty much happy to wander around the house and play though she has her moments.

She's 10 months old today, hard believe we'll start having 1st birthdays soon!

Mine's 11 months tomorrow... do I have the oldest here?

(technically oldest... she was 4 weeks early)

Just wanted to say "Hi!". I have two boys-my youngest is a May '09 baby. He was born 18 days past my due date and 6 days before my 23rd birthday! My other info is in my siggy.

j_p_i - those pics are so cute! What a little darling. Darcy likes to get into the pantry too. She and her big brother emptied the cereal all over the floor yesterday I swept it up as best I could, but DH wondered why it was crunching when he walked in the door last night!

Welcome barefootmama

Anyone else dealing with nappy(diaper)-changing and dressing tantrums? We have crying, arching back, kicking, rolling away etc. You'd swear I was torturing her

Kelly was due with Emma for May. After being with us until the end of April, it seemed a bit strange for her to suddenly switch DDCs. So we let her stay.

Happy St. Patrick's Day mamas!

Sorry I havent been on much, we have been enjoying the nice weather. DP got me a Boba for my bday and it's great! Both Sophia and I love it and we've been going on long walks. My bday was last Sat and we had a small bday party, with kids invited. Sophia had so much fun and since then she's been super talky all the time, I have no idea what she's saying, but she will blabber ALL day long. She did great in the party and with my friends, they all love her. I had fun, I used my bday as an excuse to dress up super pretty... I dont know I felt like I needed it, I've been spending too much time in sweat pants and pajamas.

Here's a picture of me and Sophia on my bday

Sophia still hasnt been sleeping well. She just fights sleep so much. I think maybe I need to start getting her used to sleep on her own or try something else, because I feel she really needs to sleep more.

She has been weird with her poops. She was pooping a way lot and it was a mix of almost solid poops and runny ones. She seemed constipated, even when it was just runny poops. I thought it started because she ate a lot of Spinach, but it hasnt stopped, it's getting better though. Still a bit runny though. I've been trying to give her more and more water.

Oh and she's a gymnast nurser too. I thought more of a contortionist lol

She hasnt been repeating much of the words she already says, only mama when Im doing something and she wants me, but at the same time she's been more and more active physically. She stands for almost 10 secs and took one step one day.
